Someone asked last thread what Kodai would be commanding in the beginning of the series; if it was the Yamato, like in the series, or the Andromeda, like the movie.

According to what I put on google translator of what is written in his character bio for the new series it seems that is neither of the two, he will be commanding a space destroyer. Dont know if it is one like the one in the background of this pic or one of the same model which his brother served.

The trailers seemed to indicate it's a refurbished Kongou-class battleship because of the interiors. Likely it's been reclassed as a destroyer considering the Gamilon cruisers are both larger than it.

I think they will start with the Andromeda first and then maybe one 30 ship fleet of illegal wave motion guns.

iirc, 2202's writer mentioned in an interview that, in the original, Earth's massive fleet buildup over just a couple of years after Earth's recovery had always bothered him.
