Any of them at all. You'll notice he's allowed to be much more sarcastic, he flaunts much more, he's very charismatic, he's much more silly and showoffish, and he's also way more cocky in general. In the show you get bits and pieces of this instead of all the time like the movies give you which is really disappointing since this Haruto is fantastic and he's basically devoid of this outside of the very rare moment ever three or so episodes where he's allowed to embrace it.

Whenever he teams up with Nitou in the show you can see how amazing he could be but they never let it go that far.

Takeru is having this happen to him as well, he feels like he's much more heroic, collected, and thoughtful in the movies while in the show he's just this generic hero character who just follows along with the plot while very very rarely having an amazing moment like picture related.

You know Kamen Rider X is pretty interesting so far. It seems like the least talked about among Showa fags but it's really keeping me invested.

Not to blog but in the second episode, the AI his father built for him is listening to X complain about being a cyborg, listens for a bit, and then basically goes "...I wasn't built for you to come crying to whenever you had a problem, I'm self destructing."

It's the most fun Showa I've watched so far.

Harvest Moon A Wonderful Life was my first Harvest Moon game, and I enjoyed it, but according to more familiar fans of the franchise, A Wonderful Life is one of the worst Harvest Moon games.

Kenzaki's actor mumbles horrendously. We can'y tell as English speaking viewers, but it's so bad that Japanese fans call it his own language, Ondwuru or Ondwulish. It's worse when he overemphasizes words like when yelling at Tachibana or during otherwise dramatic speeches. Things like that one undead shrieking like a harpy, the riders awkward body language during some fight scenes, really dumb lines of dialogue between characters, overdramatic scenes like BORO BORO DA delivered like student soap opera acting club, heavily implied homosexual undertones with Hajime leading people to believe his character was originally supposed to be female, and random scenes that seem terribly out of place like SAN! and the convenience store scene, that have caused Japanese fans to have turned Blade into it's own self defacing meme series.

I really don't see our point. In Kiriko's case she made sense to be a Rider than Shinnosuke did, who was just a easy going young cop. Whereas Kiriko was shown be very athletic and capable. The only reason she wasn't a Rider is because of the female thing

And seriously, when did Kiriko become well written. I know people like to shit on Ghost and its my favorite either, but Akari is actually a better example of a female character being useful without Rider powers. A character that stood on her own and did things in comparison to Kiriko who was just someone the other Riders wanted to protect and didn't have any influence on plots that should of involved her.

You mean the one of two times you actually uses that? At least Akari was frequently trying to figure out things about the Ganma and actually made some strides to help Takeru. After early on in the show Kiriko just becomes generic female support character.

I'm also a girl but I disliked Kiriko for what she became and how shit she treated Gou in the middle of Drive. I would have liked Drive more if it focused more on Shinnosuke/Gou/Chase and less on the Kiriko obsession. Akari was a breath of fresh air to me, because after Koyomi, Mai and what Kiriko became, Akari was extremely intelligent and actively tried to help, no romance involved.

My favorite Rider girls have been Hana (mostly the adult but chibi was ok) and Hina. Hina because she had that weird unexplained strength. Yui was also ok, even if most of her dialogue was Rennn and Onii-Saaaan.

Akari was pretty useful though. Her inventions were there from the beginning until the ending of the show in spite of most of them not being merchandising items (unlike Rina's).

They even managed to give her plot relevant stuff to do with her "science" even right before the last arc, unlike Kiriko who basically became just emotional support in the 2nd half of the show.

The actual issue with Akari was just like Takeru's though, she lacked charisma as a character. So, it doesn't matter if she did a lot of stuff if people just don't care about her.

Just look at how hyped people were for Kiriko doing anything, and the complaints about her not getting to be a Rider, while that's hardly mentioned regarding Akari.

Precure fills that niche, as you say. The thing is that it does so from bandai/toei's point of view, not on the viewer/fan point of view(since the fact that one watches kr doesnt mean one also watches sentai and/or precure).

The other issue is that it assumes western viewers and japanese viewers want the same, while female kr viewers are already pandered to through the boys(someone post that goseiger pic). Which is why the avengers example is irrelevant here, but worth more discussion on its own(on the coresponding boards of course).

The first half isn't that great, but it has some good story focused episodes in the middle and towards the ending and a neat martial arts theme alongside more emphasis on mechanical aspects of the cyborgs that still make it rather unique in some ways compared to other Showa series in spite of the bland protagonist.

However, in the 2nd half, all of that is lost. And on top of it, the new villains have childish bickering all the time while plotting to kill people, but the series still want them to be taken seriously when they're actually doing villain stuff. The monsters of the week are just robots, and most of them drop the martial arts aspect of the series.

Super-1 decides that it's a good idea to form a new Rider Scouts group with literal 5 years olds too.

And it somehow manages to be the most episodic showa series ever. You could skip from the beginning of the 2nd arc to the final 3 or so episodes and you wouldn't really be missing anything plot-wise, any new abilities or any character introductions.

The one thing the 2nd half improves upon are Super-1's hand changes though, which feel kind of pointless or unnecessary in the 1st half since most of the combat generally focuses on martial artists and the hand changes often didn't fit well with that (the Radar and Power hands only are used for combat in the 2nd half even).
