I liked the beginning of it. The MC gets a lot of character development in the first half of episodes that most other MCs in anime get in 25- or 50ep runs. The mecha designs were also cool.

It's main downfall is that it falls victim to the same tired anime tropes and the plot takes a turn for the stupid in the latter half. The end result is a tepid 7/10.

To be fair, when I compare the two... SEED comes out on top. If only because of the outright absurd levels of logic CA is more than willing to jump and how cohesive SEED actually is when compared.

I give SEEDings some credit for at understanding the many plot elements (and the holes that come with them) with Gundam SEED. At the very least, SEED is ok. It tries and (for the most part) succeeds in being entertaining but it's nothing to write home about... compared to the dumpster fire that is Cross Ange.

I think I only liked this more than SEED since I watched Cross Ange first. Then again, I still didn't liked SEED due to its animation (honestly specifically the way mouths are drawn irks me out). No matter what, watching Kira cry like an autistic bitch made it worth-while.
