Romance of the Three Colonies. (Non SD with humans)

Earth at this point is governed by corrupt officials only looking to boost their own reputation. As a result worldwide riots take place with construction robots being reconfigured as weapons to cripple Earth armed forces.
In desperation the Earth government sends help requests towards colonies that had long been granted independence but still maintained trade ties with Earth.
Three powerful colonies answer the call and sends their own mobile weapons called Gundams to quell the riots. However after the riots are stopper it is clear the Earth government can no longer sustain itself. Leading the three colonies with their own reasoning and causes to try and gain control of Earth themselves and eventually, the other two colonies.

Not really mentioning the type of genre or show here, just the things I'm looking for in a Gundam show.

I want the next Gundam to feature beam weaponry regularly again. I don't know about you guys, but I dropped IBO not because of the characters, story or animation, but because the battles and battlefields look very drab and boring because the lack of beam weapons.

Another one is I want another idealistic MC that is affected by his kills and grows as a person but doesn't go all "pacifist, no killing, disabling MS, etc etc". I hate emotionless or battle hungry MCs. The only "emotionless" MC that I liked was Heero.

No Newtype magic. If they really have to include it, just portray it as a heightened sense of awareness and piloting skills instead of telepathic communication, "seeing time", and other mumbo jumbo.

Make the Char clone start out as low/high as the MC and have their rivalry grow overtime until they're both skilled and famous ace pilots. It bothers me slightly that many Char clones just toy around with the MC and attribute not killing the MC because of the difference in MS with the MC generally piloting a much better MS (the Gundam).

A love interest who is also a pilot but on the same side. Alternatively, a love interest who is an inexperienced young but determined ship captain.

More traditional fleet battles. Most fleet battles in newer Gundams look like skirmishes compared to stuff like A Baoa Qu and Solomon. Heck, even SEED's battles feel more hectic and crowded. But also not a 1 v 100 situation like Wing or 00. That makes the Gundams look to OP.

Other than that would be aesthetic choices like the main Gundam having a shield and not recycling old sound effects unless it's within the same universe as an older Gundam.

I've always wanted a Gundam dealing with alien contact. Really alien ones, too, make it hard for humanity to relate to them. A big theme of Gundam has always been how during war we dehumanize our opponents and treat them like they're incomprehensible non-people. I want to see how we deal with an enemy that really aren't humans and are so different that maybe they are incomprehensible. No cop-out like Awakening of the Trailblazer where we cheat with psychic communication, too. I want it to be a long drama about coming to understand an alien consciousness, very high-concept stuff. Long rant:
An intergalactic war among various planets and eccentric colonies. The technology is so advanced that now is almost like magic and allows humans to do crazy things. Unfortunately a lot of this technology has gone out of control, creating abominable monsters or places where the laws of physics or reality, do not make sense ... For example, there are some areas of space where you can breathe in vacuum with no problems and others where a space suit is required.

MC is Arthur. A young mechanic that work in an landfill and finds a legendary Gundam that belonged to a king of the past. Lancelot is a female here. She halfway between a "Saber" type and a Fllay Type.. Stronger than Arthur in battle with Mobil suits. Officially her mission is to convince Arthur to become the Great King that will unify space Impire, actually she wants to use Arthur to take revenge against those who have disgraced her family. Arthur is physically attracted by Lancelot, but absolutely does not want to become King, so, he tries to escape whenever he had the opportunity. However, he enjoys a lot to be pursued by this girl.
Merlin is his trusty companion: a Kazuki Inaho type, terribly bad in melee combat, but a lethal sniper and strategist.

The show is basically a treasure hunt in space to find the Main Gundam sword that, according to legend, those who succeed in this will become Kings of space.

The apocalypse theme in X also became little more than a backdrop very quickly, and wasn't long until it was almost entirely forgotten.

A Gundam series where the apocalypse theme actually mattered would deal a lot with the scarcity of supplies, ammunition, and parts. Melee combat would be more prevalent, and mobile suits would constantly be a patchwork of parts of other mobile suits. Bandai could even make it a gimmick of the line where all the weapons and armor parts from all the kits of the line were easily swappable. The main Gundam(s) would be an ever-evolving patchwork of whatever MSs it defeated recently, kind of like what Barbatos was supposed to be before that was forgotten.

AWGX continued to be about salvaging pre-war tech throughout the series. From the scavengers in the beginning to Garrod going off in the GX to raid an old nuclear power plant to the X-Divider being cobbled together from salvage to the DX having been based on Jamil's GX-9900 to the race to D.O.M.E. Pretty much everything in the show was related to trying to regain pre-war tech, at least on the Federation's side. The SRA built a brand-new Colony Laser and only seemed to be trying to regain D.O.M.E. Even the Patoulia was pre-war salvage.

I get your point about the cool factor of franken-mecha. Ammo isn't really much of an issue in most Gundam settings because E-Caps and E-Packs can be recharged by whatever battleship the characters are based on. I don't think we've ever seen a group of MS operate without a battleship for any extended period of time except in 08th MS Team and they had a military supply line and a staff of mechanics to keep everything running so it wasn't much different.

Maybe something like Genesis Climber M.O.S.P.E.A.D.A where the characters are making a long journey through occupied territory with only their few mecha, a talented mechanic, and a bunch of dead battlefields to raid.

I remember when IBO was announced and we had no idea what the story was.

There was an almost general consensus that it was gonna be about knights in mars piloting mobile suits for feudalist colonial colonies.
It didn't help that the barbatos' silhouette looked rather knightly, and that the choice to use no beam weaponry in the series was one of the first pieces of info to come out.
Also using the western demons for names strengthened this thought.

I want a series about a post-war clean up crew.

A random bunch who all use older oddball MS compared to the standard mass production ones that most of the army uses. They go around hunting remnant groups, searching for unaccounted for prototypes or MIA grunt machines, stuff like that. Have the lead gundam be one of the prototypes for mass production that never made it to that phase because they picked another prototype over it.

The post-apocalyptic theme barely played a role in how all of X unfolded other than being the background lore as to why there's lost tech scattered about. You could have not even had the setting be post-apocalyptic and it would have barely made a difference for all it mattered.

Either an exploration of one of the various offscreen wars that occured in a Gundam AU (Such as the Solar Wars), or a Gundam war from a purely civilian perspective.
In the latter, mobile suits are as abundant as ground troops. While Gundams are almost never seen up close, and are shilluoetted monstrosities; the source of much destruction and terror.

I just want mobile suits with copilots. I figure the deal is that the series Newtypes have pretty much the usual gamut of Newtype abilities, but using them is an active process that takes too much concentration to simultaneously pilot a mobile suit. Hence each suit has an Oldtype pilot and a Newtype co-pilot who essentially acts as a fire control system, controlling funnels and detecting other mobile suits.

The series plot revolves around Earth Government seeking out Protagonist for his AI that Antagonist Faction want to capture and use to develop, for want of a better term, Mobile Dolls which can be produced without the need for time-consuming/expensive pilot training. Protagonist is a middle-aged man who wants to be left out of it all but ends up piloting a prototype suit to keep an eye on his AI (who co-pilots it).

Neither the master grade X or Double X have a cockpit that can be opened to show the pilot inside. The MG Gundam X comes with a 1/100 Garrod figure in molded white plastic and the MG Gundam Double X comes with a 1/100 Tifa figure in molded white plastic, in standing poses separately.

S1 is your typical "colony blows up, badguy nobles chase after survivors in a warship, characters gets established among conflict and danger" for the first part. Second part is shit getting real as Mask betrays Ojou's family and they again have to escaped (this time to the boondocks that is Earth). Finale ends withOjou and Gundam against a Mobile armor while Mask and Cop dukes it out in grunt suits. Mutual destruction occurs and it's unclear if anyone but Ojou survives.

S2 is when shit gets real as the Venus (who fucking hate their shitty planet) joins the war by allying with half the Lagrange point nobles. Ojou becomes a symbol for their "righteous" cause.

Meanwhile, Mask (who is now blinded and actually has to wear a mask to see) joins the other sides as he replace the s1 main badguy as one of the leaders of the badguy nobles. They also get supported by scheming jupiter merchants. Mask also has a new agenda, which is to use the war to restore the Mars Kingdom.

Cop and Haro turns out to be alive and are revealed in the third episode. They must now work together to save Ojou and stop the war.

Space vikings from a rogue (and failing) colony, going colony to colony plundering the resources and kidnapping people to use as laborers.

They have developed a prototype mobile suit called the fenris, which is stronger than any federation mobile suit.

During a raid on a colony, a young girl from that colony, who is a mobile worker pilot, manages to somehow get into the cockpit of the fenris and prevent the vikings from conquering her colony.

Over time the federation is able to make mass production versions of the fenris called valkyries, and a large war with the vikings ensues

A 12 episode OVA about a crack team of elite grunts during the OYW. MC is a 20-something pilot who's one of the first pilots to get a GM produced at Jaburo and his GM in particular has a learning AI that is the EFF's foray into AI development to test the viability of unmanned MS.

MC and his team are to take the GM into battle and basically teach it the ropes. Hijinks ensue as they blast the shit out of those stinking Zeeks while babysitting a doofus of an AI. While they're in the field they also test a variety of new test equipment which range from weapons to addons to their GMs.

Throughout the course of the series the team bonds with the GM AI until the end, where they're sent on a mission to destroy a Zeon research facility. While they're there they come across an experimental MA and several HLVs. They fight their way into the base until MC has to go inside to stop the HLVs from launching while the GM AI fights the experimental MA on its own, finally putting what it learned to the test.

The mission is a success and the HLVs are shut down, but GM AI is left waiting for MC in the end. In the aftermath the AI project is decided to be progressing too slowly and cost inefficient, and the hardware and software has restructured itself in such a strange manner that humans can no longer understand how it functions. And because the AI is so attached to its missing pilot and his team it'd be pointless to reproduce the hardware and software.
