Vietnam vibe, grounded combat, amazing action, likeable characters, it's no where near as bad as you make it out to be. The love plot isn't even bad either, just incredibly underwritten.

But if you need everything spoonfed to you because you can't tell the difference, maybe A/Z is more your speed.

The premise of it was great, and the animation/fight scenes were superb.
However most of /m/ completely oversells it, especially the "real war" aspects of it.
It was full of teenage anime clichés, with some moments of real military life rarely there, which made the whole even more jarring.
