Because Godzilla 2000 was supposed to be like the Heisei era where the first movie in it only considers the original movie canon and then branches off into its own storyline however for whatever reason the Millennium era of movies constantly failed at it and started again with each entry outside of like two movies. That's why almost all of them end in a really ambiguous way that never gets explained in the movie after it.

So far, I've only seen the Tristar garbage, Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla, the original Godzilla, the Legendary Godzilla and Shin Godzilla.

Given your rules, the original Godzilla wins, Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla loses.

To be honest I will probably hate Godzilla vs. King Kong when I see it, because it makes no sense from a King Kong story perspective.

The Heisei series is so overrated. Nearly every suit is either ridiculously fat and/or stiff and the plots are boring for the most part. The only good movie is Biollante although King Ghidorah is alright. Every movie has some good ideas but they're so awfully executed.

Spacegodzilla is a deeply flawed movie, but it has Akira Yuki, the series' best attempt at an anime-style hot-blooded character. Way better than other versions of that character type in Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla and Final Wars. Plus, it's the best Miki Saegusa movie, and has a beautiful color palette, especially in the final fight.

After Higuchi's less than stellar work on Attack on Titan, Anno's assertiveness was probably for the best. I wouldn't exactly call Shin Godzilla a masterpiece, largely due to the film losing steam in the third act. Though overall Anno did excellent work here and gave us one of the best Godzilla films.

The cut down version of Shin Godzilla is for the better I think. All it cuts is some really boring political stuff that just makes the movie feel like a slog any time after the first.

I disagree. Little moments here and there make a difference.

The only section of the film that lags is the lead up into the climax. A lot of steam is lost here. After giving the audience a minute to catch a breath following the destruction of Tokyo, I think it would have been better to immediately reveal Godzilla's evolutionary potential and start the nuclear countdown. That would shave several minutes off the running time and allows us to avoid the subplot with the American scientists.

No, the subs for GMK there are from the old DVD subs which were dubtitles. The newer BDsubs are a slight bit better but still lacking.

Quality fan subs exist and someone had posted the file last summer in the Shin Godzilla general.

Godzilla 2000 isn't boring. At least not the American version. The family dynamic is interesting (if nothing else better than most of the Heisei casts) and the special effects are an upgrade from its immediate predecessors (aside from a few iffy moments). It's a more realistic take on the alien invasion formula this series loved so much in the 70s.
