The alpha contains 5 missions for each of the two routes.

Originally the intention was to have the first release have the entire route splits done and a little into the Combined Route, but as soon as I typed that, fate decided to kick me in the balls and cut my free time into ribbons.

This particular release is kinda rushed especially when it comes to the aesthetical parts like music/graphics - I think 95% of enemy animations aren't done at all. I might have left some embarrassing bugs but that's what you get for aiming for symbolic release dates. Guess I'll find out when people start reporting them.

This is technically a sequel to DB and I'm sure everyone has completed that 13 times so no issues there... though it's a sequel in the way Kamen Rider Agito is a sequel to Kuuga, so you probably won't miss that much even if you haven't beat it.

As a quick request - I would be happy if anyone who plays this records down the turns they take to beat each stage and whether or not they acquired the Battle Masteries. I think I set them on the extremely lenient end but given that I'm the only player... well, let's just say the times may be off.

Here is how I did it, I used my 700k to max out a character's weapons, then I send out a character to kill for PP.

Also I have maxed out her Gunfight supplementary skill and gave her SP Regen to help early on when farming so she can spam focus.

When I lose the level, I am sent back to the story segment and I simply repeat the process.

Latooni is now a more muted Excellen at this point.

Yup, that's kinda the "skill tester" of the stage - it's easy to just bumrush West and get the BM, but if you want to maximize your gains...

Also the BM turn limit counts enemy phrase (i.e Turn 3 means you're still eligible during Turn 3 Enemy Phase if you kill the boss on Counterattack), which means you can try to get more kills that way, but Dr West turn order is in the middle of all his mooks so it's not foolproof as a strategy.

Well, you only get to use that form for like 2 and 1/4 stages.

Also the max damage is like 4600 (100 + 1500 + 3000) unless you get a crit on the 3rd proc if that's even possible.

I'll probably lower the chance of the 3rd stage proc in the next version.

Bubbles isn't that weak considering that pretty much every attack stronger than her solo finisher is either awkward to use (Charge Shot) or has a fairly high will requirement (Pummel, Sever and the rest).

Combine that with her friendship bonuses, good spirit set and access to a combo attack and she's easily better than most of the cast.

I also have all of the BMs so far. I was able to get the ones on 2A and 3B with an extra turn to spare, although I dragged 2A on a bit since I wanted to get some more funds.

Who's responsible for the bullshit claim that armor is bugged in D and does nothing? Because it's just that, bullshit.

I suspect it's a case of someone knowing just enough Japanese to be dangerous, reading and totally misinterpreting the common complaint about D that *after several New Game+ loops*, attack power eventually outscales armor to the point where armor becomes effectively meaningless.

I've been doing experiments to determine the exact damage formula for D, since I haven't seen it anywhere on the web.

Attack power = base * (stat + Will) / 200 * weapon terrain rank (A = 1, B = 0.9, C probably 0.8)

Defense = armor * (stat + Will) / 200 * unit terrain rank (S = 1.1)

Damage = (attack - defense) * size diff (looks like 0.05 per level of difference--M vs L deals 0.95 * normal, L vs M deals 1.05) * other mods (1.25 for critical, 0.5 for shield block, etc.)

Is the Grungust free? I don't want to pay just to use an outdated Grungust and Beta Exbein

I can't really blame Route A since it had the more interesting story compared to B. I did like how the playstyles in both routes were different since Route A is more about taking advantage of Support Attack/Defense along with positioning since a lot of that cast suffers from poor range where as Route B's focus is more on taking advantage of friendship bonuses (poor Joshua).

I got all of the BMs, only used two Orihalcum pieces to buy an Arbalest and a Weapon Saver and didn't upgrade anyone. Clocked in at 58 turns across the 11 stages.

Kinda funny to read - when the cast list was first released, a really common sentiment was "Isn't Route A basically Demonbane with some literally whos" and it's actually a pretty accurate statement, and the Giant Robo plotline in the remainder of the Route B is still in the "everyone stands around saying cryptic shit" part because of plot event timing issues.

So chalk it up to "I can't plot worth shit"

Probably still better than Alpha 1's Giant Robo though.

The Tristia stuff was the only thing in the A Route that I didn't have some sort of knowledge of whether it was from watching the OVA or second hand info since pretty much everyone talks about it anyway.

Meanwhile B Route is basically pure set up since its series are pretty much slow burn stuff that wouldn't be too out of place in a traditional SRW early game.
