AGE was entertaining at first and the Asemu's arc was good, but then it plummeted into a death spiral. Going through Kio's arc made me want to slit my wrists. Destiny is just a trainwreck, with shit plot and the liberal use of stock footage was just insult to injury.

IBO is, to some degree that may vary with different people, enjoyable to watch unlike the two mentioned above. It has some unique concepts, mechs and worldbuilding. Even if the execution is somewhat lackluster.

I haven't seen a single recap episode from IBO yet, Mikazuki is superior to Shinn in almost every way, characters don't repeat their prior story arcs in IBO, the protagonists' beliefs aren't being forced onto anyone and the Gundam designs so far are a thousand times better than the great backpack fever of Sunrise 2005.

I've seen every Gundam thus far and I've found the dragon hunt to be quite exciting. For the last three weeks there's been a moment around 3/4 of the episode where I notice how far to the right the time indicator is and think to myself that I still want more and wish I didn't have to wait another week to continue. It's not that I feel like they're dragging it out (except maybe Iok) or that it's moving too slowly, just that the episodes aren't long enough and at the end of each one I'm still excited for more.

I'm sure the haters will call me a troll. They will accuse me of being an enemy spy from a rival website. They will accuse me of not having seen any other Gundam or anime in general. They will doubt my word, my intelligence, and my taste.
But they will not stop me from enjoying this show.

I have to agree. I thought Destiny was okay. Not great, but not the shitburger that much of /m/ makes it out to be. Even the backpacks thing doesn't seem so bad after a certain *other* backpack-centric show raised that by an order of magnitude.

But the re-used footage and Shinn were awful. Even the first episode of Destiny had reused footage from SEED, cutting corners on the animation budget right out of the starting gate. And Shinn...well that needs no explanation. He was Shinn, and that's terrible.
If I had to pick between spending an afternoon with Shinn and spending an afternoon with the Hitler guy or Pig And Lizard guys, I wouldn't consider Shinn for a single second.
Mika, Orga, Shino, Ride, or Akihiro? There's not a single character in all of SEED or Destiny that I'd rather hang out with than one of these guys.

The music was great, and there were some really sweet designs (Freedom, Legend, Akatsuki) but IBO is delivering very nicely in both of those categories as well.

In that the Mobile Armors are Artificial Intelligence created to maintain order in areas such as the economy and defense of peoples land by getting rid of human prejudice and ignorance, leading the the AIs to create their own workers and mobile factories to do all the work which also create their own workers.But as always, the AI goes extreme, bent on destroying humanity since they are a threat to all forms of life and designing themselves up to be heavenly messengers (angels) to destroy the humans who drench themselves in sin, leading to the creation of the Mobile Armors, but in the Gundam scenario, the humans win with the Gundams.

With the AIs defeated, Gallahorn had to be created to maintain the peace since its clear Artificial intelligence is a bad idea.

First you have the previews with all these people talking, that'll take up a good portion of the episode and leave little room for setting the scene properly. Second it'd take people's attention from the Mika thing, which I suppose is what they want to carry most of the impact in the ep, it's why they put out that Kud/Atra preview pic. Akihiro and Lafter's VA are hosting some online event during the ep though so who knows.

I suspect MA use a disembodied predecessor of the AV system where the mind is directly uploaded rather than just interfacing the control system. That would allow Ein to act as Vidar's pseudo-AV system and, more importantly, kill two birds with one stone: the origin and motivation of MA.

The reason I'm skeptical of the AI theory is the MA's apparent inability to spawn new MA. If they can't create themselves, who created them, and why? It seems a little far-fetched to think a human faction deliberately engineered mankind's extinction (unless it's the ultimate proto-Gjallarhorn false flag operation), and if the MA are just rogue or mis-programmed AI, they could use the same technology in human-controlled augmented weaponry (say, predictive targeting systems) combined with Flauros-esque gimmicks on existing mobile suits to combat them. Assuming the technological framework is already in place, the AV system would only require development of a neuro-interface with a slight abstraction penalty compared to the pure machine interface which is, as we saw with McGillis in the previous episode, necessary to match reaction time and maneuverability since protection from beam weaponry is useless in close quarters.

As for reasons, anything is on the table. Could be they lost their humanity after prolonged sessions in machine form, loss of morality upon mind copy, the beauty of transhumanism is that anything sufficiently plausible could happen. It's likely the writers will give us a formulaic AI apocalypse as the Calamity War's spark, but a guy can dream.

It seems like the Turbine know what they are doing but I imagine there are somethings Gjallahorn is keeping secret about the Gundam frames as there seems to be a very important software aspect to it.
