Just started watching Armageddon. Pretty sweet but can't wrap my head around why did they bother to frame ryoma in the first place. In fact why murder the professor in the first place? The show didint make it clear of he was all ready an invader by then.

Dunno if you are the guy watching it or not so I will spoil text it. It is revealed Michiru did not die by accident during the Getter Dragon test, she was infected with an invader and chose to die there before it could spread. Finding this out when conducting her autopsy, Saotome began preparing for a way to kill the invaders once and for all but in his research he unfortunately became infected and started growing mad from it.

Hayato was working as Saotomes assistant in his anti invader research and was the one who discovered that Saotome was infected. Stopping him before he went out of control, Hayato murdered Saotome but now had to find a way to not get arrested so he could keep preparing the defense against the invaders. Knowing Ryoma is a loose cannon who his sense of loyalty and morals could get in the way of his ambitions to prepare for the invaders, Hayato kills two birds with one stone and frames Ryoma for the murder, saving himself from prison and allowing him to take over for Saotome and have 0 restrictions while also gaining government funding to prepare.

Armageddon makes sense, just it doesn't spoon-feed you unnecessary information and tells it to you later when you actually need the answers.

Literally from the moment they meet him in the manga he is a fucking terrorist leader of a group of school students that turned a building at his school into a warzone. Even when he reforms he still has glaring moments where he asked little empathy for human life and only with old age does he begin regretting his actions but he still does them because he's a crackpot. Name one version of Hayato where he ISN'T a fucking lunatic. The man fights hand to hand using his talon like nails to cut people to pieces, when he's older he does the same with a knife.

If you are claiming that Hayato is not a sociopath I question what you've seen of Getter. The only time he isn't is in Toei Getter where they tone him down and just make him aloof.

So you think anyone involved in the military is a nutjob? Those guys have to kill and make human sacrifices, too. Hayato ripped off some people's faces in the first series, but the violence in that one was over the top for everyone. Remember that time Ryouma beheaded a dog with his bare hands in the middle of a city street?

Looking at his actual character, Hayato is a literal genius who decided that he would overthrow the postwar Japanese government with militant action until Saotome convinced him that there were more important battles to be fought like saving the entire human race. So it's obvious that Hayato has a militant personality, but I don't think that makes him crazy. At first he thought the government was corrupt and that he could create a better nation. He then instead spent his entire life keeping humans safe and watching all of his friends die because of it. Hayato is always thinking about minimizing casualties, realizing that he can't put one person's life above another's. So he'll make hard decisions to further whatever cause he's fighting for.

Getter Robo G has a story about how Hayato is always burdened with leadership, because of his genius, to the point of fighting members of his former terrorist groups and later he is unable to die alongside his friends because of position as head of the research facility. I really don't think a sociopath would yearn to die because their friends aren't around anymore. Hayato is ruthless, but he's not crazy.

When someone is willing to maim or kill someone with extreme ease and a smile on their face IN MIDDLE SCHOOL, that person is deranged. Also the fact that Hayato wanted to not only use his genius to overthrow the Japanese government but take over as a dictator at fucking 15.

Trying to compare Hayato to Ryoma is stupid because you are literally comparing an arguable sociopath to an arguable psychopath. Ryoma is a crazy moron who grew up his whole life isolated from people and living in the mountains to perfect his martial art. Getter seems to choose mostly crazy people because only crazy people can really pilot something as destructive as Getter. The closest to sane is usually the third pilot, who usually serves as the voice of reason and the anchor for the other 2 pilots to come back to reality.

No, they're made of tougher stuff. The theme of Getter is survival of the fittest. Both Ryouma and Hayato care for their friends, get sad and feel emotional stress. But the difference is that all of them were put into situations of do or die and had to survive no matter what. Ryouma was a disgraced warrior, Hayato was an idealist with grand ambitions for society and Musashi beat nature by living in the mountains. Rando was the actual crazy guy, he wanted nothing but power over others.
