What do you all think of Getter Robo?

It's pretty good, Neo Getter best Getter.

It's a wild rise, especially the manga.

I watched Armageddon, Shin vs Neo, and New Getter. New was my least favorite of the three, but it was okay. Never checked out the manga, because I don't like manga.

Say..will there be another Getter Robo? I mean ever since Ken Ishikawa passed there hasn't been much besides his appearances in Super Robot Wars games.

My favorite Mecha franchise. Unfortunately nothing big announced for Ishikawa's death anniversary so likely we have our next good chance at an animated feature of some form in 2024 which will be the 50th anniversary. Hopefully something comes before, then with either the Drill Jill manga or devolution reaching enough sales/readership to spark interest.

Anyone know who owns the rights to Getter now? Does DynamicPro own all rights or did Ishikawa leave any to Nagai?

Also, hopefully one of these days Daikessen is fully translated or some of the side stuff so we still can get some new content. Flieder Bug scratches the itch for now since it's very similar to Getter.

You can't say we had a drought of Getter stuff. We just didn't have the big budget stuff like ovas and shit.

OVAs are good

Non-Ishikawa mangas are usually good

OVAs are the best part since they're the best animation the franchise has had and there's not much to the series aside from its action

Ryouma/Hayato/Saotome is the OG team
Go/Sho/Gai was great but they were split up
Ryouma/Hayato/Go was the dream team
Go/Tayel/Ryouma was probably the strongest
Takuma/Kamui/Baku ended much too soon
