I'm a bit confused about why Orga even ran off to join the battle. It's clear he didn't want Mika to fight, and because the sequence of events is unclear, it's hard to say if Mika was on standby in Barbatos and Orga went to the battle site because he knew Mika was going to rush in or if Orga brought him along on purpose.

Or maybe Orga went stupid and thought he could do something and Mika went after him to save his ass.

Ein was one of three characters in S1 who had anything resembling a naturally progressing character arc. He was also one of the few people opposing Tekkadan who wasn't a complete fucking joke since McGillis was actually working with them and everyone else they faced was some degree of clown(until the end, when Ein went full clown too and was just babbling incoherently).

Iok is such a fuckup that it's actually epic. Epic in the actual sense. Like there will songs sung about him in the future because he fucked up so hard that as a direct consequence of his actions he's gotten an entire elite squad of good soldiers killed, wiped out an entire settlement that also provided the majority of food for Mars' biggest city, awakened an ancient evil, shut down not one but TWO plans to stop the ancient evil...

It's not a good thing! Where's the drama if the protagonists never even falter, if they basically step on everything in their way. It's hard to actually connect to characters who are never shown to have any difficulty with their enemies, as well.

Look buddy I don't know if you realize this but it's about more than the protagonists winning. The protagonists are going to win 99% of the time, that's obvious and you accept that. But it's the way in which they win and get to that point that matters.

It's like the difference between Luke Skywalker in the original Star Wars trilogy and Rey in Force Awakens. Luke Skywalker and Rey are both super special chosen ones who awaken to the Force and go do Jedi shit. But Luke Skywalker sucks. He gets his ass kicked all the time and is constantly barely getting by on luck or being bailed out by friends, and he gets crippled for life and shot with lightning and everything. He had to struggle and work for it.

Rey on the other hand, despite also being a clueless hick, is great at everything and always succeeds the first time at stuff she doesn't even know about. She never struggles, she never has to work for it, she never endures suffering or setbacks or consequences of her screwups.

That's what Tekkadan is. They're boring as fuck because you're expected to believe they're barely surviving, they're climbing up from the gutter, they're the underdog in a world of gods and kings, but then they've got all this plot armor and convenience and all their setbacks are incredibly predictable and tame. That's shit.

It's not as though this is GI Joe where every explosion produces a parachute and a safe pilot. Even if the casualties are unnamed until we see their memorial, it's been made clear that Tekkadan has lost a lot of people, most notably in that month long war on earth and in their final push at the end of season 1. In addition to the nameless grunts, Fumitan, Biscuit, Aston, etc they also lost their attempt to expand a second branch on earth. That, from both a political and business perspective, is actually a huge loss.

who ever kills the MA gets the Order of 7 which results in a power balance shift. If Tekkadan kills it they become king of Mars AND Order of 7 making them top dogs in many areas. So this arc is fairly important.
