In Cima's case I'd rather just blame her own comical idiocy that she was betrayed three times in a single flashback that last 5 minutes. At some point it stops being tragic and starts being funny, and her backstory went over that line and kept on going full steam ahead like a freight train until the line wasn't even in the same hemisphere anymore. I wasn't pointing it out to excuse her though, I was pointing out it because it's been animated twice the Zeon used G3 gas, so it's hardly Feddie propoganda.
