Early Type is apparently the new meta on JP, but even the the regular Assault GM (AKA the basic Feddie Sword and Shield suit) can be pretty good if kitted out correctly.

For the regular GM, the First/Left one makes it better at Melee, Second/Middle one makes it's Grenades do more Damage, Third/Right one makes the Beam Spray Gun do more damage.

Depends on what you need. If it's Grenade Thrower or Beam Shooter, I'd say keep it as a throwaway suit until you get a better Gold unit like the GM-II or Nemo. If it's Combat Custom, I suggest saving up those pink tickets you're getting right now then see what event suits you pick up.

But that aside, I haven't seen any actual exposë on the game's point-earning schemes on the english wiki. Is it just my inattentiveness, or have none been written up? I think learning how to effectively earn points and maximize one's play style to that end is an important lesson. Kacho's rant touches the subject, but a proper breakdown would be best.

There's a variety of ways, and I'm not the ZZ authority out here, but... the main setups are for long and short range. Either you spam missiles at your opponent, then switch out to your beam cannon and slam them when they're flying linearily trying to evade your missiles. If you stun them, all will hit. This is best in zero-G maps like Gryps.

The second is the close combat effective choice - stun your enemy, then annihilate them with instant switch weapons. This can be done very effectively with the dual beam rifle, which as a superb down value and shot speed. Then, you either bazooka or gerobi, or then bazooka and gerobi, because both are instant switch. This is probably the fastest full kill combination in the game to date, even if it happens to be inferior in cost-efficiency to the 200-point heavy GM and its beam rifle type n. You can also do this with the excellent vulcans leading, instead of the handheld rifle.

On a more serious note, the Kampfer used to wreck any non-assault suit because of the shotgun and its mobility. You can't escape them and they stunlock. Now that the shotguns were useless, they're only used for the mobility, shoot and scoot with the dual zooks. It also still has a vulcan for the current meta which is at least worth something with its speed.

And the chain mines. Almost forgot about those.

I like using the proto kamp when I got it. The gatling is also for silver unlike the G05. The stats on it are on the short side compare to others, but it's still a good suit.

Regular Qubeley is good. You can go over 4k hp, it has faux-beam coating that means it can absorb a great deal of beam fire, and it also has the speed of a kampfer. Weapons-wise, it has a good melee D, a good variety of short range beam weapons, a worthless gold beam weapon which means silver is perfectly good, a copy of GM Cannon II's shoulder beam gun for long range, and finally, the funnels. Funnels have an above-middle range, a relatively fast lockon, and superb damage that exceeds that of any existent missile weapon, to which it compares.

Then there's the bad side. It's too big - bigger than a Hygogg and again, despite all the HP and the beam coating, it will be swiftly destroyed even by a pre-production GM's beam rifle - especially since you gain no resistance to DP from the damage resistance. As a bonus, it is brightly coloured, and furthermore, has a glow effect surrounding it, making hiding impossible. As such, you will never survive on the frontline. However, the funnels lock and hit more efficiently than missiles, and due to their remarkable damage can produce impressive kill streaks. The Qubeley's job is to lead from the rear and run away from close combat. The most secure kills will come from your teammates cornering an enemy, and you hitting them with funnels when they're either out of boost or too pressured to avoid properly. Other than that, though, expect to be considered a plague on your own team if you flit around in the frontline, blocking friendly fire and causing expensive deaths one after another.

Antarctica isn't a fun map, but since I'm a Fed, Idk how much I can help you. If it's the Antarctica map w/o the BA, I always take a support with a loadout of Anti Air, Heal Pod, and Repair Torch for artillery since most people already tend to gravitate towards radar. I also use at least one throwaway unit, mines is the trusty Nemo. I see a lot of Zeon use the Char Origin Zaku as a throwaway and they manage to score decent amount of points, so maybe that could replace the Nemo? The next unit I take is either another throwaway or a charge bazooka. Zaku IIF2 is a good idea, but I find that the Hizack performs much better now because while the Sturmfaust is strong, the instant switch to the 6 hit missiles seem to be better imo for following up. Finally, I use some big cost unit that I charge in with and try to score points. This is your personal preference really, so I can't help here too much.

For the Antarctica map with a BA, the same mostly applies, but I ditch the support for another throwaway unit and focus more on dueling. Artillery might be good here, not my preferred choice, but Zeon uses the Halfcannon and Gigan very often as duelists.

The isaac is more when im in the mood to try some bullshit. it works honestly maybe 1/10th of the time. So usually this is when I use a respawn module and some stored boost modules. You really cant do much damage with the isaac as its 3-point smg is pretty eh but you do get some damage, points, and you usually pull about 5+ people to that base which can be vital in allowing your team to siege a point that was otherwise deadlocked. I particularly see success with it on the 0083 space map, and texas colony.
again though, dont expect miracles

As for radars they help your team actually realize "oh enemies are approaching base/point" vs waiting til the O's are already letting it rip inside your base, cause seriously in the 600 hours or so I've played it feels like half the players are super tunnel visioned and just ignore shit constantly otherwise.
Radars get points particularly well in Grypses as I mentioned, you rack assist points with them centered around your main base, I usually dont bother with the base in the back as usually the radars won't achieve anything, especially given the time it takes to spawn there, set it, and respawn.

My Feddie is lower gold, my zeek is only upper bronze as I dont play him as often+not as accustomed to those units overall.
Anyways, Feds dont seem to want to win tonight+got antartica 4 times in a row so im gonna go off myself, peace.

Yeah, radar is probably the best investment a non-moon player can make, especially if you upgrade basic Engy unit's standard pod all the way.
Since there are only the range and deployment time to upgrade, you can easily max both to get a circle that both last a few minutes and cover nearly a third of the width of an average map.

Indeed, especially seeking Space Mines, but regular Landmines can really help shut down Base Rushers when placed properly.

Well I usually stick to the backfield anyways, so having a wide-ish area that last a while is preferable for keeping a defensive net up over a large but short or small and long pods.

Gold is a bitch, but you can adapt to it after awhile. There are of course other ways to learn the game as well.

A tidbit.
If for some reason you want to use the piercing mortar, you need to aim for the base of the barrel of the icon in order to hit it.
You can use the mouse scroll to slightly zoom in the map while using the mortar mode.

Piercing mortar is pinpoint accurate, so if the first hit doesn't connect don't fire at the same spot. People usually put them beside walls/buildings/cliffs, so take that map feature into consideration on whether you should aim a little bit slightly to either side of the walls.

Also going to add about accuracy, it's an invisible stat for the mortars. Usually the L types are the most accurate, while the F and W types fires relatively wildly. You can test these on the practice map by firing it onto yourself, and see how effective it is in term of damage and AoE.

Single shot solid ammo is pretty worthless, but the 3 round guns actually have the highest dps.
Whether you want to use them or full auto is up to you. The 1150+ damage 3-shots are solid, it's what I used on my GP04 before the kd update, now i use the beam shitter.

The GM Night Seeker II and Zaku Flipper have the net grenades as well.

Technically the Matsunaga Zaku II also have the net cracker, though it explodes on impact instead so I don't know how it works on 0g.

That said, net grenades aren't as useful as the netguns (zook types) because they don't get buffed along with them on the last patch, which means that the duration is cut really short if you don't hit them dead center.
