How can I get this working on an emulator?
Do I need to know any Japanese or is it a straight-forward shooter? Does the plot follow the anime closely or will I be lost in the story?
I don't recall needing to run the game with any specific settings on PCSX2. It had some slowdown in a few sections, but that was a couple of years ago.

It's basically a series of missions that follow key parts of the Votoms storyline, along with a handful of extra missions relating to side story material. The game itself is straightforward, with an arcade-styled game structure where you complete levels and upgrade your super fighting robots.
10/10 anime game. Virtually flawless.

Sweet! Are there any other guides for translating stuff like shop menus and shit?

Not that I know of. That menu is the most complex thing in the game to be honest, famalam. Everything else is very straightforward.

Thanks m8, I'm excited to play this, it looks like a pretty great game.
on the subject of Votoms and emulating
a while back somebody was posting crazy highres shots from an emulator running one of the PS2s gundams and they looked really cool
has anybody attempted similar magic on this?

I can translate the menu stuff if you post screenshots of all the menus. I've played a good 30 hours of this game too.
In the image you posted, "Lock?" is actually Lock Distance, meaning the higher the stat, the further you can lock onto.

Now that is a big figurine.
Does anyone know how to unlock all the ATs in the game ? I completed every mission and find it strange that there's still locked units in the game.

I'm pretty sure I got every AT just by playing the game, so I don't know anon.
