You could probably count someone n ZZ took, but I've not seen it to comment. I think the blue haired girl is a decent Gundam pilot for the Mk II or Zeta though from recall of threads. It's only 43 episodes long. TV series are supposed to be about 50 episodes. It was cut back and cancelled for reasons that some still debate about (bad time slot, "gundam tiredness", competition with eva, etc).

In any case, it's apparent that about halfway through the series they were forced to rewrite the second half to accommodate the fact that they had about 7 fewer episodes to work with and end the story. One of the things that got cut out was Enil having a bigger part in the second half of the series. She would have had the Esperanza II, her own custom MS. For those that recall, Enil had a high speed mobile armor that got ripped to shreds during that island story arc. Apparently Kid the mechanic would have salvaged her machine and rebuilt it into the pretty thing in the picture.

It's the story of a young, but cunning boy struggling to find meaning in this depressing and destitute world, and a girl chased by the shadows of an ideology from the last war, their meeting will trigger a whole new conflict. At the beginning, the show can be quite slow and depressing, but once there is enough character development, you as a watcher really come to understand and develop a bond with the main characters, they are not perfect, but you can't help but feel affection for everyone. But be aware that the show can take quite a few episodes to get used to.The combat in this show can get really intense. There are some innovative weapons used in this series that really cause a lot of destruction. Unlike other Gundam series where the protagonist just shoots the enemies down like a piece of cake, I found that the main characters were actually challenged by the enemies and had to push themselves to prevail, thus, the fights were very exciting to watch, I would definitely recommend this show to anyone who enjoys the UC Gundam series, This show has a similar atmosphere to UC, so if you are one of those people who have only watched Seed and Wing, you may not like it.

It just wasn't getting good ratings on TV. Simple as that. The leading theory as to why is that there had been new Gundam shows constantly airing for the past few years, and people were simply getting bored of it. Especially since Wing, its predecessor, had received only a lukewarm response in Japan (Wing's smash-hit status in America was something nobody saw coming).

It's one of my favorite with 0079 and Zeta. One day I will finally see zeta and see if it is has good as advised. I love the MS design. X and DX are really great. The white MS, in the snow world, is also very nice. One ot the antagonist has a really great MS too. Garrod is a great character and an underrated pilot that can do a great show. I've always like him from start to finish. When I think about it, it may be the best protagonist with Amuro and Kamille. Jamie Neel and Tiffa are also good. Overall it has good character, except garrod both sidekick. The end is rush obviously, but the whole show is really enjoyable.

For many people, tomboy is the way to save the world.

I've found it hard to get into Gundam shows (can I say that on /m/?) but I really liked this one. The ending was a bit rushed but everything else was perfect. I liked the callbacks to the original Gundam (e.g. Lancerow's MS in the flashbacks of his last battle with Jamil resembling the Zeong)

Honestly, I didn't enjoy X at all. I felt the designs of both the ships and the MS were boring or just unappealing, the ghetto-Newtypes didn't really zen with me, it felt like a post-apocalyptic Gundam series, which really should be amazing, but ends up being boring.

In all fairness, other Gundam series without Tomino at the helm never had the "kill 'em all" mentality, so I can't really say X is unique for that. But yeah, nameless casualty wise, X should be unbeatable (multiple colony drops and multiple spammed Satellite Cannons). Something just came up to my mind. With how usual these days for sci-fi stories to destroy or at least do something to the moon, isn't it amazing that the moon in X is still in one piece? DOME controls the Satellite System. Newtypes can request to DOME use of the microwave beam to charge the cannon, but the SRA has mentioned that they've been unable to capture DOME due to the DOME G-Bits cutting down their forces whenever they try. Other than that only GXes and G-Bits had the Satellite Cannon to begin with, and most of those were destroyed.

It's why at the end the special ops forces had to manually reconfigure the Satellite System to accept requests from the Ashtaron Hermit Crab and Virsago Chest Break so the Frost Brothers could wipe out everyone, and the entire Satellite System and DOME are caught in the beam struggle and are destroyed.

Come Under the Moonlight though a weaker version of the Satellite System has been reconstructed and the combined SRA+UNE Government has developed a weaker, limited use, portable Satellite Cannon that any mobile suit could use, but there are still GXes running around.

But it's boring though. Most everything else either has some unique quality, or was a customized grunt that harkened back to a UC suit. The Crouda looks like a poorly-articulated stone statue with a generic gun and really unwieldy beam sabers. It's really jarring when you have stuff like the Bertigo and Balient, which are similarly blocky, but are also unique in their designs.

I've just finished rewatching the show and I must admit I still have trouble with the revelations on newtypes in the AW timeline.

How can power manifest itself when it's but an illusion? Why did Jamil and Lanslow lose their powers if they believed in newtypes? Does the power come from belief in newtypes?

Also, now that I've seen VOTOMS, I can't help but see D.O.M.E. as Wiseman and Tiffa as a Perfect Soldier of sorts.

The power itself isn't an illusion, the beliefs associated with that power and with newtypes in general (they're saviors, they're humanity's evolution, they're the ones who'll build the future) are the illusion.

DOME's speech was about a society lacking in values and looking for something to feel their emptyness suddenly giving all this importance to this new phenomenon that appeared.
