A lot of units change the way their model looks when they land and fly, SEITEN Eight Elements and Albion are just the most notable examples.

Most people probably first see it with that black unit from Patlabor, it retracts its wings when it lands as well.

Q actually does have one unit in either of the PVs - Mari's pink Eva was from it, in 1 she wasn't a thing and in 2 she piloted a really weird green unit that I want to see in SRW one day (should have been in L) and Eva 02 while Asuka was out.

Other than that, there's the other three Evas from Z3-2 - the rebuilt 02 that's for the most part shittier so they probably won't use it, the Mark 09 which is a fair trade for the Unit 00 so god only knows, and the Mark 13 that Shinji and Kaworu piloted together that we probably won't get here because it looks like Shinji's keeping 01. Maybe Kaworu will pilot it on his own, though, I dunno.

Isn't it supposed to be spelled "Masou-Ki"? In every other instance Banpresto has used "Ki" it always means "weapon" or "machine god" or something similar. For example, in Endless Frontier EXCEED they introduce the Fee-Kleid and Ark-On, and call them Yousei-Ki and Shura-Ki respectfully. Yousei means "fairy" in Japanese, so shouoldn't "Ki" naturally refer to it as something like a "mechanical weapon"?

Makes you wonder if RyOh-Ki actually means "Dragon-Lord Machine God".

The issue is that even if it's more gratuitous, it ruins the scene on several levels.

It adds an over the top element to Artorious' act that makes it harder to connect to what Velvet is feeling.
It drains away from the element of Artorious simply doing a mechanical action, like butchering a goat, to achieve his goal.
It ruins a moment in the ending meant to bring the entire thing thematically full circle unless Velvet suddenly uses rock magic

It basically undermines the entire scene, akin to if when adapting Berserk, instead of Griffith raping Caska he just "mind raped" her

Anybody know how to configure Dolphin proprely to run GC? Mine always has frame drops and sound lags when the 3D models show up (either in status screen and battle animation), otherwise the game runs at 60 fps normally.

I've got a strange problem too, in Alpha 2 the game lags like a motherfucker on maps, but during the second part of the X-2 stage Ibis route, the game ran perfectly fine despite it being no different than any other space stage, battles run relatively stable with explosions causing framerate dips, but I'd like to know why only that one map ran fine with no issue. The problem is that the Virgola needed some kind of extra something on itself to contextualize the Carver, as it was in Z1/Z2 it hardly felt like an upgrade.
Like, I don't know, make some cool chest or legpiece, the Carver alone looks out of place. At this point I prefer the Z3 Virgola, at least the design is more coherent.

Part of what's wrong with the movies is that they somehow boiled down the series to FLASHY MOVES. GIGA DRILL BREAK FOR EVERYONE.

In the whole TV series, GDB was used by exactly 3 units: Gurren Lagann, King Kittan, and Super Galaxy Gurren Lagann. And the Super Galaxy Gurren Lagann has a completely different GDB concept (it doesn't grow a giant drill)

In the span of a single movie, they added as many GDBs as there were in the whole original series. Arc GL gets one, STTGL gets one, even the Anti-Spiral gets one. And it's the same exact attack (grow a giant drill). It's lazy as all hell.

Even worse, giving the Arc GL leads to them fucking up the reveal of the SGGL. Why? Well it's gotta be giga-drilling something. Well maybe make it it be giga-drilling a moon-sized robot trying to punch the earth. Wait, wouldn't that be revealing that the Cathedral Terra has a robot form way too early? Fuck it. We'll have it start in robot form, have it turn into ship form, and then later when Kittan sacrifices his life have it be "REVEALED" as a robot form again.

All so the Arc GL can have its stupid 3-second giga drill break.

Even in the original, he sought to mimic the TTGL. Even the characters state that it looks like TTGL (which it doesn't but whatever). Creating something of an inverse of the finisher fits together with it thematically and is likewise more justifiable for the Anti-Spiral to have a Giga Drill Break in this situation than Super Galaxy Gurren Lagann.
