Anyway, I think the gameplay on them is iffy (not much different from walking on foot), and the magnetic shield is dumb.

This shit is half the reason I didn't get TF1. The other half is no single player.

But that lead artist has no understanding of proper /m/ mecha. In another interview he said that he thought Battletech created/owned the word 'mech', and that just displays ignorance that absolutely should annoy a large fanbase that should be interested in your game about big fighting robots.

But TF2 is fully /m/. The structure of the plot is like a good VOTOMS gaiden story, with the colorful boss characters, the fun (if unoriginal) doomsday weapon threat, the rookie pilot with the cutting edge mecha, it's all there.

If you absolutely hate CoD, it's probably not for you. The on foot gunplay is too twitchy and dumb, the multiplayer structure has you as a pilot at least 2/3rds of the time, and the ADS style is pretty derivative. People talk about the wallrunning and movement a lot, but I don't think it's really enough to stand apart.

But if you can tolerate that stuff, the Titan play makes it completely worth it. They're all distinct, the on-board AI voices are neat, the weapons all feel punchy, and the designs are a hell of a lot cleaner than they were in TF1.

BattleTech does, to my knowledge, actually own the trademark for the word "mech," which in turn is a twist of irony due to George Lucas owning the trademark to the word "droid" (the game was originally going to be called BattleDroids).

That doesn't stop people from using the word as a colloquialism. You just can't name them mechs in your official material.

The new classes kinda ruined what i liked about 1 because of what you could customize on them and you could go more in depth with abilities chassis and weapons

Titanfall 2 has a really good single player campaign, but in my opinion the Multiplayer is just hot garbage compared to the first one

You really need to press E to call out that you have a battery or they never know it's coming. Especially Tones, since those guys never have any situational awareness.
