You do realize that when minovfsky particles are spread you don't get radar right? So if you are paying full attention to an enemy in front of you then yes, someone can ambush you from behind.

Still, you don't get the automated radar to spot it for you. If you aren't paying attention to what is going on in all of your visual sensors at once, you can get ambushed. Many of the suits also had blind spots, probably because the technology was still fairly new.
