Looks like a Gunbuster reference to me

Also speaking of Kinnikuman, there was a Gekko Kamen reference/cameo in one episode, but I didn't screencap it and I cannot for the life of me remember which episode it was in.

You can argue that Kinnikuman is relevant to /m/ for the kaiju fighting arc early on, but once the first tournament arc starts it really isn't relevant outside of cameos and references. Just because the character began as a loose parody of Ultraman (with a design based on Ultra Seven) doesn't make the series /m/ imo. It's not /co/ even though it's about super heroes and frequently references Superman, Spider-Man, etc.

I doubt it. That robot first appeared in the DB manga no earlier than '85, and the anime in 87. I'm not sure which episode of Kinnikuman that screencap is from, but considering it's bringing up monsters it's most likely very early on, meaning '83 most likely. The DB wiki mentions that there was a Xenomorph earlier in Dr. Slump, but that one doesn't have eyes either.
