It'll stop being an intimidating, one off monster of the week and start getting destroyed in numbers by random schlubs without achieving much, if anything. They'll also probably scale back it's capabilities a lot to make mass production possible.

Once the Big Zam was mass produced, Zeon would be finished in no time. Because they would be bankrupt.

But seriously, how effective would a number of Big Zams have been? Let's say that at the time Amuro fights Dozle there were, like, five of these things completed and ready to be fielded. Would the Federation really have been finished?

I think it would, because MA destroys shit in space until the Gundam comes in, like in every Gundam shows.

It's the perfect weapon for a faction that has plenty of resources but lacking in manpower such as Zeon.

Possibly, just due to the large amount of ship casulties. The Zam didn't really have too much of a chance against gundam after its' weakness was exploited though. Maybe if you had a huge number of say, 10 to 20 they would be more effective vs Gundam. Or it could end up meta as >>14981775 puts it.

The Big Zam was an great anti-ship weapon, but was pretty weak to mobile suits and really only had intimidation on its side. A weapon that doesn't work so great in a war, since as Sleggar put it, they're soldiers and they can't just let it keep doing what it's doing. Even as an anti ship weapon though it was only as effective as it was because plot armor demanded only the Gundam be effective against it, so every ship in the vicinity only ever used beam cannons despite them being demonstrably worthless. If it was produced in even limited quantities even that protection would be gone, ships would start using missiles, artillery cannons and machine guns and they'd start to fall to ships, GMs and Balls as well as the Gundam.

Mobile suits are simply a better anti ship weapon in Gundam since while they're not as large or loaded up, they're more agile and versatile, which works out to more survivability in general and allows them greater strength over time.

It will be the end of the Federation. They won't hold a candle to oh hey, Big Zam.. nevermind, Dozle can go home, the other replies already pointed out the potential cons of mass production. It would also be annoying to fight many times, say in a video game, and eventually the Feddies would learn how to counter it. With fewer experienced pilots not being novices, no matter what at that point at the Battle of Solomon, Zeon was SOL. You could throw conscripts, cadets and such into Big Zams and without proper training and experience the pilots wouldn't have a clue how to effectively use a Big Zam. Char claiming it's not the suit but the pilot inside is correct.

About 15 meters by the looks of that chart, since the Big Zam is 60 meters and each other Zam is either half or double its height. And it'd be slightly smaller than the Gundam at that height.

By the looks if things 480 meters, since it's 60 x 2 (120) x 2 (240) x 2 (480). Which would make it taller than the Empire State Building, even including the spire.

Neo Zeong is 116 meters, which means the Huge Zam, Gigantic Zam and Ridiculously Oversized Zam at what is likely to be 120 meters, 240 meters and 480 meters. In fact, the Ridiculously Oversized Zam is nearly big enough that it could take the Neo Zeong as a cockpit the same way the Neo Zeong takes the Sinanju.

Didnt ended so well for the gm schmucks. It also has enough armor to laugh at anything short of a critical hit and the Big Zams armor design is made so only its underside is really vulnerable

The only GMs it faced were also completely unfamiliar with it or its capabilities because it was literally just after launching publicly for the first time. If it was used more than once that wouldn't be true. Amuro and Sleggar also inflicted several wounds, critical and non-critical on it, both up top and down below, so I wouldn't buy that either. Amuro nearly blows a leg off by shooting the hip several times, fires a beam rifle point blank in to a thrust and cuts the "head" several times with his beam saber. Sleggar's fighter impacting on the underside also causes explosions without being suggested to be critical on its own, since it's only after Amuro goes to town on the head that it goes down.
