>>S.T.R.I.P.E. (Special Tactics Robotic Integrated Power Enhancer) first appeared in Action Comics #40 (September 1941).
>>IRON MAN first appeared in Tales of Suspense #39 (cover dated March 1963).
Only HQfags knows him. Great merchandising, DC.
I like the soviet guy better
>tfw DC is way more /m/ than Marvel would ever hope to be but nobody cares

The power armor's waaaaaay newer than 1941, he got it in freaking 1991. He wasn't STRIPE back in WW2, he was just Stripesy, partner of the Star-Spangled Kid.
Back in the day he had the amazing power of wearing a striped shirt and being the only middle-aged man to sidekick for a teenager.

That said, this panel amuses me, because I'm assuming he's just left with a bare hand sticking out of the power armor sleeve until the rocket fist is reattached.

Aside from what >>14978474 said, what made Iron Man work is more than just the power armor, specially in the classic comics. But even if you ignore those you have RDJ now, it´s not just about having power armor.
