I always preferred Kira/Cagalli. I was pretty annoyed when they threw that away to pair them with Lacus and Athrun. They could have at least come up with a better reason for them not getting together than "they were really siblings all along". That just feels lazy.

I raged so hard during this scene.

SEED gets lots of hate here and it's understndable. But I fucking loved SEED, I loved its characters and teen melodrama. And Destiny literally shits on feelings of fans like me who actually enjoyed SEED. Destiny should have never existed.

Seed Destiny and Seed are pretty much the same. More godly mobile suits, sweet romance, and WMD's. People tend to dislike Destiny because of the new protagonist who can be quite annoying at times. Do keep in mind that he has attitude problems because he experienced extreme emotional and mental trauma as a youth.

You're wrong, I believe that they are two completely different things.

Hell no! the series feels like almost a complete rehash of the original, there just isn't anything worth watching about it, the main character is annoyingly and painfully emo throughout the series, i guess his angst/emo-ness is justified but its overused. Cagali and Athrun's characters are ruined, strike freedom is even more OP than freedom, the only parts worth watching are freedom's return to action and freedom vs. savior.

Destiny was a hot pile of garbage and I gave up on it after about 12 episodes because I couldn't stand Shinn as a protagonist, eventually watched the special edition, but still regret ever watching the series, far and away the worst Gundam series.

But at that point it's mostly because I plain disliked him, he barely did shit and had very little development except in the end where he is finally brought to be the big bad except having your whole story, motivation and reasons revealed in the last 3 episodes or so is pretty bad characterization.
Apart from being mysterious, I thought there was nothing really compelling about him, I couldn't care about him, didn't want to know more, he never ever leave the mask which is bad (imho). Basically, he was suppose to be a cool char clone which I didn't give a damn about. Having both him and Athrun as antagonists while having two protagonists would have work if his opposition with Mu wasn't a sidetrack that had very little importance in the grand scheme of things. Then he is pushed as Kira's enemy out of nowhere (even though you can see it coming, there is still nothing substantial between the two except Raul is a comical villain).

i'm a huge Gundam fan as well and it really pained me to "bitch" about this one, with that being said, after reviewing Gundam Seed last week (The Good), I felt a need to review Destiny this week (The Bad), i agree with the Kira being overpowered statement, i did enjoy that he kicked ass, but there's a limit to how strong and how quickly someone should become that strong, I'm not even gonna get started on Shinn, if I do that i'll just end up bitching all day about how he was one of the things that brought Destiny down
