you underestimate my love of space
>>
Has there been a better sci-fi anime in past 20 years that Planetes?
>>
I'd pickle my left nut and eat it on live TV if it meant a permanent Moonbase by 2030.
>>
Fuck outer space, do you know how many intergalactic shitposters live out there?

You think leafs are bad, wait until you meet those space vampires.

Memories of my waifu.

Did they remasted the Blu-Rays? Got more of these images from the OP?
>>
>>14955368
Yea they did, and the BD looks surprisingly beautiful, especially compared to other remasters that came out around the same time (RahXephon comes to mind).

The filenames from this group trigger me to no end. It's Planetes, not Planet ES.

I'm nearly done with this show (second time watching, and the first time was a little over 10 years ago), and I forgot why I loved it so much back then. There hasn't been an episode wasted (even the ninja one). Every episode does a good job of elaborating on the state of the world in the second age of space exploration: how our push to go beyond the Earth is affecting life on earth, life in space. And at the same time does a great job of bringing all its granular themes squeezing them into a very personal and heart warming story.

When Sunrise wants to, it can be the best studio.
>>
>>14955474
Didn't even recognize that, but now that I see it, I'm feeling triggered as well
>>
>>14953123
I would do nothing, unless I get any guarantees of the worth of my sacrifice.
>>
Well, I wasn't expecting to be overcome with so much emotion. Glad I watched the series once again
>>
>>14955738
Tanabe a special class of best girl.
>>
>>14955743
>Goes from annoying moralfag in episode one to best of the best by episode 26.
Now that's some character development. Meanwhile Claire a shit
>>
>>14955754
What I enjoy about Tanabe's progression is that it's basically built around her gaining a true understanding of the morals she won't shut up about. She's still unable to shut up about love in episode 26, but with all she's been through and all she's seen while sticking to her guns she's more than earned it.
>>
>>14953155
jokes on you, I can just pack my /m/ shit with me and relearn it on the trip. I'm sold. Send me to space, you fuck.
>>
>>14955812
What if you could never relearn it? You were banned from every enjoying mecha again?
>>14955766
Most definitely. It was gut wrenching, yet extremely rewarding seeing her existentialist crisis as her entire world view is being challenged as she comes face to face with death. Also, what made that scene so captivating is the use of no sound in space. Would love to see a giant robot anime series do that.

I would sacrifice Trump, putting him on an altar, gutting him and letting its blood form a devils incantation.

(you did say sacrifice, to me I can sacrifice stuff I hate)
>>
>>14953143
Because globalist USA, globalist USSR and globalist China went to space.
>>
>>14955738
Just seeing stills from that scene is enough to bring tears to my eyes. Truly the best proposal, fictional or not.

I'm waiting to see if "Space Brother" top that,
I mean beyond this
>>
>>14956265
Well China is globalist, they're just on the opposite side of it. And considering how much the US and USSR spent vs how much they're willing to spend now, yea, I'd say you'd need a global pull to accomplish your goal.
>>
>>14956514
A globalist logic would also ease the military budget since you don't go at war with friend you launch space mission with

The above failing would make a good story : USA, Russia and others all work on a multistep mission to Mars to strengthen their relation.
The mission is a few year in when the country simply can't bear each other anymore and go at war.

They have to keep working together or all their scientists on Mars die because you can't magically grow potatoes. If only to bring them back fast.
>>
>>14953143
Tell me how many rockets did Africans with an average IQ of 70 put into space so far? Oh, none? That's what I thought. Globalism is simply the system the USA promoted after the end of WWII as a safeguard against the USSR and as a means of softening potential allies into submission.

Competition drives technological progress. A focus on global trade to the detriment of everything else is a complete death sentence to any technological innovation.

tl;dr -- you're clueless.
>>
And to answer OP's question: I would sacrifice every fucking leftist who is more concerned about global warming or feeding the poor in some third world shithole than putting us into space.

Fuck you.

fucking nothing
the depths of space are boring as fuck

There's pretty much nothing there
that's why it's called "the depth of space", and not "the amazingly exciting cosmic kingdom of Adventureland".

I wouldn't even go there for a million bucks because I wouldn't have anything to spend them on.
>>
>>14953123
The EPA

Because that's Trump's master plan.
>>
>>14958939
First of all, the average African's IQ is way above 70 (which is actually mentally retarded) and second of all, capitalism isn't the sole driving force behind technological advancement. There's a shitload of nerds in the world and plenty of them would work for free if given the materials.

Don't take credit from people smarter than you who actually do shit with their lives instead of shitposting like an inbred retard. I'd love to see you try (and fail) at doing anything STEM-related.
>>
>>14958942
That's actually pretty funny considering you dumbass conservatives are the ones who say going to space is a waste of time, deny global warming and wanna cut funding to the space program.

Do you even believe in space? I always figured people who complain about 'leftists' think the Earth is flat & NASA is secretly controlled by reptilian devil-worshipers.

They'll believe in space, they'll be forced to when someone make money of it.
Looking at how its going we will end up like The Expanse, fuck social justice, fuck equality, profit first !
>>
Considering our current level of technology, I'll just keep my feet on Terra Firma.

Hopefully by the time I hit 60, we can into space colonies.
