First is an offensive string of stupid unrelated episodes with no plot and no characters(everyone is a plot device with no character), bad animation(not visuals, but the cgi is also pretty bad) and no core or soul to it. The second is a boring dull uninspired mess that makes no logical sense.
And nothing from the first factors into the second. Almost every plot thread from the first is just forgotten or abandoned and replaced with something completely different.

I've watched all kinds of mecha shows, but this was the only one that inspired complete and utter wrath

This is the most timewasting bullshit I've ever seen, written by someone whose idea of entertainment is stringing one existentialist monologue after another. Fuck plot. Fuck characters. Fuck actual action scenes. Fuck anything that isn't the raging metaphysical philosophy and mythology boner.

Literally the only reason I watched the show was because I had seen Rahxephon was high on the power level charts and wanted to see what warranted that. Even that aspect was an absolute letdown, and I had to sit through 23 episodes of the director screaming to me about how smart and cultured he pretended to be in order to get there.

I'm all for creator driven auteur works, but for the love of god, do something interesting with it like Nagano. Don't shove your head so far up your own ass that you'd need a C section to get you out.

Star Driver.

Fun concept. Great soundtrack. Fantastic mecha designs. Had an interesting start, but quickly screeched to a slog through most of the show until suddenly the ending happened out of nowhere. Basically, your typical Bones anime, but Star Driver had a couple of points that made it really hard to like.

Not a single mecha fight was actually interesting because not only did Takuto never lose, he never even struggled. Even his dad, who was stated to be pretty powerful and had a mecha similar to Tauburn, got curbstomped when Takuto suddenly pulled an upgraded form out of his ass.

Everyone passed around the idiot ball constantly because no one could identify the members of the council of dominatrixes despite there being maybe a couple hundred people at most on that island and quite a few of them had very distinctive features.

Well gee, I might have expected it to expand upon the interesting PSO2 setting in an interesting way instead of in the worst way possible, and drag the actual game's direction down with it.
A PSO2 anime could have been great. Up to and including Episode 3 (of the game) it had an interesting setting that would have made a good base for a sci-fi anime. Nobody could have forseen it would become a high school anime and somehow turn the game itself into a high school anime.

Was waiting for this to pop up. This was my first mech series. I still enjoy it, not to the degree of thinking its infallible, but the thing that annoyed me most was pretty much all the female cast except Quon.

Of course, there were a number of other characters that behaved in exactly the same way, but Quon had the most screentime, making her the most irritating.

While Webdiver looks really, REALLY fucking terrible - and the 2D animation frequently has issues, though I saw remarkably little QUALITY so props for that - I do actually like the plot and characters in it. I can see why Subdivers loved it enough to go through it.

The guy at the Lego store even said to me that they're really popular with nostalgia-driven adults.

Meanwhile those Star Wars figs (especially Luke, Finn and Poe) clutter up the shelves like some Lego Funko figs, never seem to go on sale and somehow they STILL shit out more and more of those.

This thing is lifeless, has no character, due to the cancellation mid-way horribly written and simply not fun.
The only positive things I can say about it are that the mesh of 3D and 2D looks pretty cool and that they focus a lot on Pohatu and Lewa while Kopaka and Tahu are almost sidecharacters.
