FAG and the cbr combo guncannons are from 2014. WD, Wolf, GCII, and even the SML that came in 2013, and a number of others are the most obvious ones. The problem with ZZ is that it's the size of a Zeon suit. It would need HS's beam coating and a shield to be able to survive.

There's 2 scores that affect your points apparently. Your placement and how anally destroyed your team as a whole is. So even if you place in top 10, if your team did really bad you'll still lose over 160 points while if you are 4X and you won your game by a margin, you'll probably get less than 50 points increase

While The win rate I've seen is still roughly 50/50 I've noticed that when zeek teams realized they can lob grenades for free hits to the fed center base it's a pretty quick win for them.

Also why does it feel like so many people just don't bother following up on near kills? like shoot a rocket around the corner fuck.

(I'm just salty that I can't carry beyond netting 2nd-7th place)

It's not directly related, but controlling the whole mid area for grenade throwing requires the team to be better at skirmishing/brawling, which usually enables them to easily control 4 as a result.
Spawning from 4 starts you closer from the middle, but only just, and both sides can just use the beacons for it anyway.

Yeah I can see that now. Just need some more grey cables to unlock longest throw so that I can pitch in with more than just healing and zone control on that map.
Still trying to figure what to do on the updated Gryps though, as I can't seem to do much to keep the psycho dives at bay, and trying to back door via holding and advancing the sides we still seem to lose there as well.

You have to control the space areas and keep your centre alive to reliably win. Controlling the space points allows flanking from so many directions that there is no longer any possibility of a reliable defense on the centre. It also allows breakthroughs to the battleship bases.

It's a map where if you defend, you lose. The best bet to taking the space is teamplay with guncannons and fags.

Zion seems to still have a decent advantage over feds. I should go post my win and loss ration for both characters.

Pic related, only way to not lose over 150+ points is to place in the tens with a A score. I lost maybe 50 points when this happened. If you get a dumb B score then thats about 200+ points, I really don't understand the why you lose so much

Only down is that they can't carry a CBS, but the 7 round SA rifles are solid as well. Damage is so-so, but you'll be knocking everything down with no worries.

However, if someone prefers to hoard points instead, the team loses but he gets the least punishment because of his points. If everyone hoards points, everyone loses. Hey now, that ain't got no truth to it. Char Zaku is great. It has a small category of advantages to it, but they are significant.

1: Cost. 240 points. You can throw it away.
2: Speed. 1185 base, eligible for high mobility passive. This puts it above the 1176 median of over-340 suits, passing the ordinary modes of Zeta Gundam and Bawoo, and equating its speed with GP01, of all things. This is not ordinary speed. This is the kind of speed that goes unnoticed only in Gelgoog-sized suicide chunks. And on that subject;

3: Size. I kid you not, this is the most powerful ability in the game. Being small is an absolute power. Ask any Gigan jockey. The Zaku 1 silhouette is one of the slimmest, shortest humanoid types in the game, and does not possess any large forward protrusions like most shields bigger than knuckle shields. It also has a very slmi firing silhouette with its MG. This is important simply because there is no other way to avoid immediate, regretful fiery death in this game than dodging. And with a combination of speed and small silhouette, a lot can be achieved.

4: The special rush mode. This isn't as much a combat mode, but an elaboration of the Zaku I's football helmet and shoulder pads appearance. In this mode, the Zaku is meant to emulate its handegg origin, madly rushing forward for the goal with the conspicuously not-ball-shaped ball, delivering either kicks to bases, or the "ball" in form of a nuclear bomb.

Another handegg player comparison is drawn from the fact that after running 50 meters, Char Zaku has to take a long ass commercial break before he can do anything strenuous again.

So yes, the size is great, that is true. The speed is also fine. The main problem with the suit is the 'rush mode' is one time use. Its basically a rush mode and die suit. Because after you do your spazz out kicks, I bet you're overheated. And that means your dead cause Char needs to go on a lunch break after he does that shit. I'd have to look again to be sure, but I don't believes the weapons are very great at all. Obviously you can make anything work at this point, but the suit isn't very good. At all.

As for weapons and stats, the machine gun is above average. As the poster you're responding to pointed out, the speed isn't fine, it's absolutely incredible for a low cost suit.

I was browsing the leaderboards just now, and realized that the top Zeon heavy player on the whole ranking came in 17th. All above were feds. And they all used one and the same suit, some even four of the same.

GM Early Type, beam shooter, with a BR and a 3p MG.

, but in games I play defense only works on some maps and those maps are mainly non-rush maps like the blizzard and Torrington (the one with the tower, not Shamblo). In most maps, it's almost always better to have more Jios rushing at their enemy base rather than an extra defender, as well as multi-Jio decked rats to keep the pressure off contested points. Not saying they're useless, you do need that one or two person distracting some of their Jios just so that your team's Jios die sooner than theirs. Also you seem to downplay the attacking Jios' capability to only rush at the base instead of coordinated killers and base damagers, which is what most of the platooned Jio deckers do.

I have never, ever, see any team with less Jio-decked admirals win since their introduction.

main thing about score is that it highly awards killstreak. so if you forever stay in a safe waypoint spamming shots at enemies (which will grant you a kill even if you only hit it once), run at any hint of trouble, and generally don't help with pushes you will get a lot of killstreak going.

bonus points for constantly complaining about shit teammates and supports that have a lot of other things to be done than keep topping off your ass all the time because you don't want to die so much for that killstreak.

Although macroing mouseclicks definitely helps;

If your aim is good, you can simply use the normal type beam rifle for maximum damage/clip, but alternatively you can just use the H variant due to its high lock on value. The increased range of the H type helps with the sure-hit nature of it, 4 shots or less to stagger them and another 4 to down them.
The main thing here, is that you can easily max out the beam shooter passive of the early type GM for that extra damage boost, making it even better than suits <320 cost (except the Gunner Gundam which somehow gets the 320 cost tier beam rifle).

The problem is economy, I think. OldGM comes in at 200 points, with 10 slots, and a small frame. The first Zeon BR comes at 280 points, and is roughly Gelgoog-sized. Heavy Galbaldy requires DX to be burnt, too.

And the gunner gundam is a bit of a pickle because it's also a free suit, but has the 4000 base power N-type BR. That comes up in 320 category only, for Zeon, and only on DX suits.

I maintain that Zeon can't compete on BR heavies, but should play to their strengths. Mainly Gigans. Silver Gigans. Straight decks of 4 silver Gigans.

Gigans and Zakutanks are definitely top tier. I don't think any meta can touch them.

Have you tried using the M type bazooka round instead of incendiary/howitzer? I saw someone on the leaderboards using it and decided to try it out. Pretty great.

Specifically the green Zakutank. It and the Gigan have similar loadouts. Either incendiary howitzer + howitzer F, or just bazooka M for the DP. Then just use one of the MGs for a secondary.

Due to the instaswitch, any combo they use is very powerful. I think the Zakutank can even get away with howitzer F + bazooka F as well.

Starting Zakutank is capable too. It can hide behind very small cover, and it has the dual howitzer whammy. This is a very hurty package at low tiers. Plus it has hitpoints. All of the hitpoints. All of them. Godamn, it has hitpoints. You know? Zakutank rolls across the road, Gundam looks at it and goes "godamn, that fucker's in a wheelchair and stil lhas more hp than me". For real.

The vulcan's garbage, but you can make do. Just don't expect to chase down people you hurt.

Other low cost fed units I seen alot more are the Nemo and GM Cannon II

The Nemo is insane for its cost with the FA BR. and Quick Switch makes it better. Only downside for the unit is that it's a DX-only and doesn't come with Beam Shooter.
