What did they cut out so far? I'm curious, seeing as I've read up to volume 6, and I can't recall any outstanding cuts.

Is Sean dead in the OVA? His Zaku gets blown the fuck out by Io.

I was keeping track when it was coming out, but lots of sequences were cut out, rearranged, trimmed, or truncated.

A notable one is the deployment of the Gundam. The manga has the fight shown, then we see the Zeon reaction to it, while the Ova cut out the battle.

Unrelated to plot, some fights were altered, and Sean is almost certainly killed in the anime (in the manga, we never see the shot that took him out, so his death was never confirmed, while the anime clearly has his Zaku engulfed by an explosion that starts close to the cockpit).

Oh yeah, and the most notable change (this one I actually liked) was the one were Daryl lost his hand. The manga has him losing it when the he's resting on the ship following his battle with Io (his Zaku took no damage), the anime has him taking some damage from Io that lead to the arm loss.

The most notable omission was the chapter with the kid in the Guncannon, they only show a bit of the chapter then the rest of it with the kid is omitted.

Anyway I actually liked the way Daryl lost his arm in the manga. Losing it in a fight is horrible but losing it by a random laser when you're completely helpless is horrifying desu

While I did find the scene to be great in a sort of cosmically ironic way (you go through all those fights only to lose your hand in a random incident), it made his fight with Io more personal, since he lost both hands to him.
