TV series plus second movie. First movie is forgettable as it is a super condesed version of the tv series.

TV series + Be Invoked

Compilation series are NEVER a good replacement for the full show.

Watch the TV series first, then the Be Invoked film.
The Ideon: Be Invoked starts off with a heavily reworked version of episode 39, and then it goes into some really insane philosophical mindscrew-ish stuff. It's basically proto-End of Eva, but with more substance.
