when does something starts being /m/?
lets consider evangelion and Shingeki no kyojin
both have giant humanoid creatures that are biological yet controlled by humans
both have unexplainable technology(the tridimensional maneuver equipment and thetitan fluidfor SnK)
both have father issues and family drama
where do we draw the line?
Where it looks cool
Titans look like ugly mountains of rotten meat
Evas look like graceful robots
>>14935663
>where it looks cool
well, they do look cool, especially the human ones
female titan was sexy and the crystalization was graceful
negative coolness for EVA02 ending like most titans
>>14935649
Shingeki no kyojin is not a generic harenshit
Titans are completely biological. Basically controlling monsters.
Eva units are biological beings infused with technology, as seen by the metal armor, cockpit, and they're controlled by computer programs. Basically controlling giant cyborgs.
I've seen the "Is SnK /m/?" thread before. And I still don't think it holds water. Just discuss it on /a/. They have regular threads.

Maybe it's the approach to how the "mecha" are treated in the story that makes something /m/ or not. There's really not much focus on the shifter Titan bodies themselves so it just feels like the shifters are transforming rather than piloting, compared to NGE which has the biological element too but they're clearly treated like standard mecha. That's all I can think of at least.

Not enough metal for me
Female titan is absolutely disgusting, the armoured titan and the guillotine gorilla are only ones that look somewhat cool
SnK is just a shitty Zeta gundam with no robots
>>14935649
Nodos>>>>>>>>>>Pussy ass Titans
>>14935649
Titans are kaiju, kaiju are /m/. Easy.
>>14935685
Maybe I'm just ignorant, but how is a show like Jushin Liger /m/ then? The way I see it, the only thing separating it from something like SnK is that it seems to lend itself a little easier to toys and it's by Go Nagai.
>>14936523
>where do we draw the line?
How stupid the plot became. Not even Eva's plot got as stupid as SnK's plot. I think SnK would be more welcome here as fringe content if it was written better but it really gets quite bad.
To top it off there isn't even any well designed Titans outside of Reiner's, the rest are all deformed or skinless people.

>Maybe I'm just ignorant, but how is a show like Jushin Liger /m/ then?
because there's a pro wrestler based on it
that's why Ultraman (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oBZwMVs3Z_4) and Mazinger (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EM-7y0g10hc) are here
>>14935649
It's all about presentation
>>14935785
Isn't Liger biomechanical armor? I haven't seen the showsubs fucking when
>>14935649
>Shingeki no Kyojin
Do you also call Evangelion "Shin Seiki Evangelion" and Gundam "Kidou Senshi Gundam"?
>>14936547
It's CALLED a "bio-armor". It's really just a giant fleshy body with some metal armor and weapons on it (not power armor just armor), it bleeds and everything.
>>14936549
Isn't it common? Its simply a matter of the japanese title being more poplar or the english one.
>>14935649
plz go back to >>>/a/

One has Jet Alone.
One doesn't
when there are machines.
>>14938597
I don't know if I want an explanation or not
>>14938597
Aaaaaaaaand can I have a serving of context to go with that?
>>14938642
>>14938647
Shintaro Kago's an artist that usually does weird shit, often involving shit, and has a bit of a fascination with people or body parts being used as machines. There's one book of his about a world where construction vehicles, cars, etc. are all altered to be mounted on legs, arms, and bodies.
It's hard to post something from it since it usually features nudity and the like. I really liked his samurai manga about a hell amusment park.

>>14938642
alternate take on world war II in imperialist japan who uses giant females like machines to war against americans, using shit cannons and lots of crazy ideas.

Sometimes this guy reads like an insane Hirohiko Araki with a scat fetish.
>>14938661
>>14938682
I don't know how to feel about this.
>>14938682
>reads like an insane Hirohiko Araki
I don't see how that's a thing.
Araki might do some gore and body horror from time to time, but it's just battle injuries and powers and shit.
The bio tanks you posted might as well be from a western freaky porn comic where it's actually used for sex.please don't tell me if it's used for sex I don't want to know
>>14940952
It's not a 1:1 comparison, especially since I said he reads like he's insane, but there's just something about it.
