Indeed, those are just my personal feelings. I just don't like how Yas takes Tomino's complex and realistic characters and turns them into caricatures of themselves as a form of a mastrubatory exercise. I can see why such a thing would have popular appeal and the Origin is a fun yarn that admittedly has entertainment value. It just offends me that most people would refuse to see anything more than that in a story.
I also admit that Yas is better than Kitazume at presentation but ultimately they are both guilty of the sin of self-indulgence - Yas by gross overexaggeration and Kitazume by giving in to cheap sentimentalism.
Tomino has his own silly fixations like samurai, penis jokes and brown girls but he never let his personal aesthetic or moral preferences influence his objective approach to a theme or a character.
Wanting to have fun is understandable but I wish people could see more than that.

Debatable. Even Gundam's characters can be seen as gross caricatures of those seen in things such as Yamato and even earlier robot works like Grendizer.
