Anyways, no, Mika isn't a mary sue. He's a plot device.

I mean, the plot doesn't bend over backwards for him. He wins, but so do a lot of Gundam pilots. And his "push-past-human-limits" moment left him crippled outside of a mech.

Which was kind of a waste, I'd like to see him need to compensate for being down one arm and blind in one eye in an actual fight. But Mary Sue? Don't see it.
