Well at least they're up front about what they're doing.
>>14926250
Also, that safety pin thing. Kinda makes Heavy Metal Gouf here hilarious in hindsight.
>>14926250
How much of a mary sue do you think she's going to be compared to Rey?
>>14926268
Aren't they going to die?

Disgusting. Using the election results as a way to commercialize a movie and promote it to people who want "to escape from oppression" and can't see that they are already sheep for falling for such an underhanded tactic... but I expected nothing less from modern Hollywood.
We even have Donnie Yen to sell it to Chinese audiences.
I wonder if there is a link between Chirrut Imwe and the "monk" of the Knight of Ren.
Anyway, I hope Chirrut does cool things. I really like the concept of his character.
> "Opposed by a multi-cultural group led by brave women."
For a multi-cultural group, it sure seems to lack cultures aside from Human cultures.
And I can already here /pol/ trying to ruin the movie for everyone and SJW whining about it's about a white woman.
Meh.
I'm still existed about it.
Hopefully, it'll be better than episode 7.
>>14926284
>nothing less from modern Hollywood
Anon please, this has been happening since man formed societies
>>14926301
What the FUCK is that lightsaber?
>>14926607
A edgelord made it.
Did you not see Force Awakens?
>>14926607
It's a shitty edgelord handmade lightsaber, with exhaust vents on the sides.
>>14926651
If the vents pointed upwards at an angle it might not look so retard but one saber lock and goodbye fingers
>>14926661
You know, I think absolutely nobody had pointed that out before.
>>14926281
She's a girl, of course she won't die.
>>14926607
>>14926661
Are you a time traveler from last year?
>>14926651
>Accusing finger reinforces unquestioned authority
>>14926268
Less so than before the reshoots. I get the feeling that one of the main goals of the reshoots was to make her a more likable character and less of a strong wimmin who don't need no man. If you comppare the very first trailer with these last two, she seems like a completly different character. I don't think that iRebel line is going to appear in the final film.
>>14926724
It's true.
>>14926284
You do realize that Lucas wrote the original Star Wars partly as an allegory to the then political climate and wanted to pillory the Vietnam War and the governments that had got America in to it using his film? It's not the only influences in the film, but it is there. The Empire might be famous for British actors since the movie was partly shot in England, but the Empire was Lucas' view of America as it is while the Rebellion was his view of what it could be and stand for.
As for including Donnie Yen to sell it to China, how is that any worse than including a legion of white people to sell a movie to American audiences? It's the same shit.
>>14928657
Except the american movie industry is majority white anyway. That's like shooting a movie in the woods and asking why it has trees in it.
>>14928665
The movie industry is mostly white because they mostly hired white actors. It didn't just happen to be mostly white people that wanted to work in Hollywood.
>>14926947
They reshot some parts? Now I understand why she sounds less annoying. Good, the "I rebel" line was retarded.
>>14928674
>They reshot some parts?
Only almost the entire movie. I expect only the action and special effects scenes will be from the original version with pretty much all the talky bits redone. Of course I'm pulling this information out of my arse, but compare those trailers. It's not the same movie.
>>14928665
>>14928673
There's plenty of nonwhites trying to work. A ton of productions just only want like, one minority speaking role. Stiff competition and a lack of roles to go around. Shit, Sam Jackson and Morgan Freeman almost monopolize it.
What kind of a moron paints huge portion of their merchandise as white supremacist? They rely on selling all sorts of junk and now all imperial goods are haram.
>>14924771
Vader better come out kill everyone in the end.
>>14929552
It's perfectly normal in the US to do a lot of reshoots
you fags have the budget for that
>>14929750
Zakus print money, Zeon warcrimes never stopped anyone.
>>14929750
Something something Dukes of Hazard confederate flag
>>14926947
>iRebel line is gone
Thank God; that bit of dialogue (amongst others) was rather terrible even for a franchise that has Anakin Skywalker's pickup lines.
Still worried that they're trying to do a gritty war movie in the SW universe, but ah well.
>>14924771
>yfw that group she joins is called "the Bothans"
>>14932644
That wasn't 'till Return of the Jedi, wasn't it?
Although Mon Mothra's doing a bunch of stuff here so whatever, Bothans can retroactively get as killed as they want.
>>14932644
>>14932655
For a species that played such a big role, they are surprisingly absent in the movies. Did ALL the bothans die bringing the plans for the second deathstar to the rebels?
>>14932658
>>14932655
they will be called bothans.
and they will all die.
calling it
>>14932658
They were occasionally a go-to whipping-boy race in the EU.
Kind of like Rodians occasionally being mentioned as smelling awful in the EU, etc.
I'd complain that shit's complicated to talk about now but EU's been complicated for years.
>>14928657
I think this (rather childish) allegory would be a lot more effective if the Empire didn't have a ton of British, Nazi, and Soviet elements as well.
Also, make Palpatine into Space Nixon rather than a goddamn mastermind wizard. I mean, the Emperor was supposed to be an evil bastard who threw everything good about the nation he led into a trashcan. Sounds a lot like the common perception of Tricky Dick.
>>14926607
>>14926651
>>14926661
Shitty, impractical weapons? In Star Wars? Noooooooo...
>>14930302
Don't you call me an American, m8.

>>14932655
>>14932676
>>14932676
>>14932926
>>14932661
No, I mean, did bothans appear in the movies as live/CG characters in any meaningful way other than a mention as an aside? Since all these while I thought they were cute furry bipedal racoons or ferrets but then I saw the comic arts and they looks like furry klingons...
>>14932983
>furry klingons
Anon, exactly how old are the comics you've read? because the species has had total redesigns like twice at least.
>>14926301
>Hopefully, it'll be better than episode 7.
Or at the VERY LEAST be better than the prequels. Jyn sounded kind of bland in previous trailers.
>>14933014
Still mildly salty that they made a new whole race instead of using the already established cat race for Knights of the Old Republic.
