So I really want to watch Kabuto but the lack of subbed BDs makes it hard for me to chalk up the courage to watch it. Usually for anime I wouldn't mind if there weren't BDs, but for live-action it's different.

Anyway, why aren't the Mega folders with OZC's BDs in the download links? Surely they'd be a good addition?

I feel like, in many respects, this was really a Decade movie. Decade's the one who does a lot of the legwork, and he also carries a lot of Hongo's old sentiments from the original Kamen Rider show, particularly his "The world of Riders is to kill or be killed" line. He also quotes (paraphrased) Hongo in the last episode of Wizard as well.

>"What we fight for isn't justice. What we fight for is humanity's freedom."

Even though Gaim took all the juiciest scenes and got the most interactions with Rider #1, it's really Decade who does most of the legwork. He's the one who performs most of the initial work in gathering the Heisei Riders (even though he gets sidetracked by Fifteen and Shotaro's the one who ends up taking care of it in the end). He's also the one who meets with Shu's mother, cuts at the heart of Fifteen's conflict, and is the one who ultimately ends up saving Shu in the end. And in many ways, he's kind of the missing link between Showa and Heisei, being a Heisei Rider created by Shocker, and the Heisei Rider that best exemplifies the original concept of the Kamen Rider's lonely, eternal fight against evil. In many ways, Decade might be the Heisei equivalent of Hongo.

If Tsukasa and Hongo ever really got the chance to have an actual conversation, it might be interesting to hear how it plays out.

That's true. It might have been more meaningful had Decade been the one to defeat Fifteen while Faiz was the one who destroyed the Mega Reverse Machine. I mean, Faiz WAS one of the ones who did the latter, alongside Wizard and X Rider, but Decade never really got a final battle.

In fact, out of all the Heisei Riders, Decade's the only one who didn't get to perform any of his special moves or finishers. He doesn't even use the Slash or Blast cards.

He also seems to be rather uninterested in the conflict between the Heisei Riders and Showa Riders overall, going quiet whenever it's brought up. He's initially more interested in knowing why the Showa Riders oppose the Heisei Riders, and after he gets his answer, it's pretty much just justified self-defense. For the most part, his only real aim is to save Shu and defeat Badan. Everything else is just an extra.
