Solbrain protects the people of Tokyo from high risk crimes and incidents, but what about the ordinary police officers who contribute to their communities? When one such ordinary officer, Sergeant Kageyama, refuses to fire his weapon at a suspect when his life is endangered, Solbrain discovers a surprising reason behind it.

Notes:
Veteran filler writer Takashi Yamada, writer for everything from Blue Noah to Robocon, to two of my all time favorites, Agedama and the Wondrous Crayon Kingdom, presents this very well written story of normal Japanese cops caught up in serious situations. In this story, I would say that Solbrain is actually passive observers. In this time of rampant police criticism, Japan still prides itself on small community precincts rather than large police stations, and even to this day it's not uncommon for communities to know their officers personally. It is something that used to exist elsewhere, but has become a relic of a simpler time. A very well written and emotional episode. Enjoy.

Thanks again, sir. Also, is it true that you'll be Jetmanning through this show soon?
>Agedama and the Wondrous Crayon Kingdom
Those two shows are going to be brought up a lot, aren't they.
>>
>>14904243
It is true that I will be Jetmanning the show and I intend to have subbing finished before Thanksgiving and release finished before New Years if possible.

As for Agedama and Crayon Kingdom, maybe. I like them both!
>>
>>14904249
I don't blame you, Agedama and its spiritual cousin Hepoi seem like fun shows. That being said, I couldn't be more excited!

Thanks, m8.

Shit, I found some Winspector-Solbrain merchandising from the time I was a little shit. Feeling old, man!
>>
>>14904478
You hues had it so fucking good. I envy you.
>>
>>14904249
What does the term "Jetmanning" mean?
>>
>>14904882
Basically, putting out releases for a show in a speedy rate. The term was coined by GUIS doing this for Jetman (imagine what'll happen if blu-rays for that come out). The week isn't done yet and this episode came out already, compared to previously being around once a sunday or so, so this should give a good idea of what to expect.
>>
>>14905452
There will be another this week.
If I can finish this project I'm working on (not related to subbing) I will have Solbrain's subs done by Thanksgiving.

On the subject of exciting Metal Heroes news, the guy who was working on Super-1 decided to drop and is doing Jiban instead.

To be fair, Solbrain and RX were the last licensed tokus here. TV guys tried to close the trilogy with Exceedraft, but they changed their minds in the last minute (animes like Saint Seya and DBZ were the new wave). End of an era.

Ironically, anime killed the toku market here - not exactly Saban.
>>
>>14906800
Kind of a mixed blessing, since Exceed goes full-on silly with SATAN (oh, and not really having much to do with the first two shows).
>>
Oh, and reminder that MBE will do B-Fighter.

As long as he's not the guy using Comic Sans for Super-1 (there was a guy) I'm cool with it. I love me some Jiban. I heard that Bikel and Walter were originally supposed to be alternate Jiban forms but they just used the suits later.

Exceed was originally supposed to be its own continuity separate from the first two, but when they found out no more Rescue Police, they brought in Masaki in the last few episodes to sort of round things out.

This doesn't make Exceed a BAD show by any means, but it does have aliens and demons later in the story.

Which is interesting because later in Solbrain Masaki says he doesn't believe in the supernatural, but he does believe that there are many things that modern science isn't able to fully explain.

>they brought in Masaki in the last few episodes to sort of round things out
Well, that helps at least.
>This doesn't make Exceed a BAD show by any means, but it does have aliens and demons later in the story.
When you put it that way, sure, it fits with stuff that's been in from the start of the trilogy (witches, sentient goo, etc).
>Which is interesting because later in Solbrain Masaki says he doesn't believe in the supernatural, but he does believe that there are many things that modern science isn't able to fully explain.
Fate has an ironic sense of humor sometimes.

>>14907446
I think Xig is the one using Sans, the guy doing Jiban isn't him.

That said, it feels weird to get Jiban before Jiraiya, the show it references. Feels like Sun Vulcan subbed without Denziman in that sense.
>>
>>14904222
no wonder metal heroes are part of the past.

Space sherifs = crap
Juspion = crap

This is no exception.

Any KR >>>>>>> MH

JA did say that he would probably get back to Super-1 at some point, but now that it has full non-HK subs, it's not as big a priority.

Fine by me regardless. I'm more hyped for Jiban than I ever was for Super-1.

>actually trying to force a Kamen Rider/Metal Heroes flamewar

Totally pointless, modern Kamen Rider is basically just edgier Metal Heroes. Not to mention the english speaking fanbase for Metal Hero shows is roughly six people.
>>
>>14910017
I just don't see the point. It's the same stuff, made by the same people, just in a slightly different flavour and variant. It's like going to McDonalds and shitting on someone for buying a Quater Pounder instead of a Big Mac.
>>
>>14910017
>>14910031
Adding to this, at least KR's equivalent to Robocon can actually be watched, unlike Kabu/Robotack (which barely even has raws at all).
