Did you like Mazinger before the nose job?

Hasn't the base Mazinger had a largeish nose and red outlines to his eyes in all incarnations? Even Mazinkaiser has them I think.

Toei version took away the eyeliner, changed the chest fins, turned the pilder red and the limbs blue, and replaced the abdominal protrusion with an anorexia curve. Even the gray parts between the limbs and torso were changed; they're a distinctly lighter shade in the cartoon.

The only change that made sense and complemented the design was the red pilder, which is why the Shin Mazinger version is the best

Anyway, Great Mazinger never had the eyeliner as far as I can tell. Still looks best with all black and no blue.

Original Mazinger did not have a nose. It's also the best design. Manilla Pilder is God tier. Rounded Breast Fire plate is Devil tier. The oversized horns and inhuman face is amazing. Not to mention, the overall design is slimmer and the coloring for the limbs are a shining silver-blue.
