Why he had to die so early?
>>14868734
Because he was a spoiled brat, haven't we discussed this before?
>>14868734
because he was some sort of turning point in the series(at least that's how I feel)
his death was the starting point for people to realise what an asshole char was, and to start questioning what are his plans.
>>14868734
Because of his bloodline.
>>14868734
He forgot to pick up his family's gundam.
>>14868734
Blame it on the misfortune of his birth.
>>14868734
cause he was a shallow character that took years of head canons, video game plots, and Origin to make him the character he is today.

It is also the turning point where zeon start losing the war. When Garma die at the battle of Seattle, Zeon was still in his highest moment, then, it only went downhill from there.

I personally also see his death as that point of no return for the principality, in a Tomino "youngsters are the future, old people are ebil" kind of vision. Where the only option for a more dinamic/reformist/acceptable future leadership inside of this kind goverment died, in the form of young and idealistic Garma, and they are left with the old, rotten, corrupted and reactionary leadership, represented by the other siblings.
Maybe as a character, Garma died too soon. We could have more screen time of him hunting the White Base and developing more his character with his interactions with other characters and his attitudes. But as a idea; "young and less guilt generation of this faction died, so this faction has no bright future", he probably died in the right moment, if it was given more screen time to him he would probably have some kicking the dog moments.
Assuming Garma lived, would he have survived Kycilia and Gihren? Because I doubt those two would've let their youngest sibling end up as leader, or would Dozle and popular support stop them from trying to move against him?

He was too beautiful for this world. He absorbed all the beauty in his family making him a prime target for chars keikaku.

Kcycilla loved garma and he would have ended up just following her. Girhen wasn't as fond of him but still garma doesn't have the ambition like those two

Garma was also the first zeon death in the show that was more of a zeek of the week that amuro and the crew of white base overcomes. We actually get some view of his life and amuro's realization that not every zeek is a fanged tyrannical evil looking person.
