Not from what I know, which I guess was partially my point. They're running out of Gundam's to remaster, so other shows may not be too far off. So in a sense I could be wasting my time. But conversely, I could be getting sub files ready for an eventual BD remaster.

They're the same subs everybody is using. They're not bad from what I know. However, everybody seems to use Uoodo while those subs use Woodo. I don't know how or why this happened. It's relatively minor. But it's a thing that shouldn't be terribly hard to fix. So, why not fix it? And so I'll fix whatever else people know about along the way.

In my exploring of Nyaa, I've found 1.6ish sized Russian subs for both those shows. So if not BD quality, at leas likely better than the encodes we have now. However, there are no seeds. I'll leave them up for about a week, but it's not looking good.

I just took a look at the Japanese Wikipedia page, it has ギルガメス (girugamesu) while the page for the hero is under ギルガメシュ (girugameshu). 'u' sounds are often dropped in spoken Japanese but knowing where requires some intuition; in this case, both words drop the terminal -u, which is how that poster derived the term "Gilgameth". I've also seen people use the katakana reading of Votoms (botomuzu, because there is no 'v' in Japanese) to claim that it should instead be translated as "bottoms", but that sounds silly and breaks with Sunrise's long-held romanization.

Okay, I've done some research and have finally reached a conclusion.

Both ギルガメス (Gi-ru-ga-me-su) and ギルガメシュ (Gi-ru-ga-me-shyu) represent Gilgamesh in Japanese. However, they are based on different English transliterations of the Sumerian name Gilgameš so they are pronounced differently.

It's not that simple.
ギルガメス IS Gilgameth, phonetically speaking. However, ギルガメス is an outdated transliteration of the character that English speakers called Gilgamesh. ギルガメス is most likely the more "true" version of the Sumerian pronunciation of Gilgameš rather than the English approximation Gilgamesh. So while I would say that Gilgamesh is probably the safest way to translate it, it still remains that Gilgameth could have been the intended name.
