What percentage of this game involves robots? I'm down for a good rpg, but I want to know how long i'm going till that extra bonus kicks in.

It's not like losing control of him is a new thing introduced in CS2. CS1 did it when you had to fight him and Machias while controlling Fie and the sword autist. It also happens depending on who you take along for the horse rides during the festival. And I guess technically it happens too if you switch your field character.

Regarding CS3 the franchise has a tendency to introduce new elements at the end of the game. In Sky they introduced new status effects in the final boss and in CS1 you got to use Valimar for one fight at the end.

Since the final boss in CS2 was two robots in a party I'm pretty confident they'll give other party members mecha.

That said since everyone's broken up (and the reason why wasn't really stated unless I missed it), I wouldn't be surprised if you actually end up conflicting with your old companions. The game's heavily-foreshadowed a confrontation with the Ironbloods and Sharon through her dialogue, so something like Rean ending up as a rebel or outlaw and he has to convince everyone he's right through battles would be pretty intense.

How do you guys get 500k damage on Laura? I've been trying to do it on Nightmare mode and I can't seem to pull it off.

I've had her with:
L5 Tauros
Domination
As many Str increasing Quartz as possible
+100 str to both accessory slots

And I'm only doing 330k at most in the first hit.

Murakamo is nowhere near as good as Vermilion, Orochi or Tauros though.

From a series of tests that I did, Murakumo is better than Tauros & Vermillion if you use Waterfall & Domination.
Because their damage bonus was calculated from the BASE damage, while Murakumo increase CRITICAL damage which is calculated last.
And Orochi is just like Tauros with relies more on RNG compared to Murakumo + Ice Crown.
Also Calamity is obviously unreliable.

Here's my calculation for 100k base damage with crits:

I assumed that there was outside pressure. Class VII had singlehandedly changed the war and together they represented a bunch of power and were led by a young war hero. That's the sort of thing you could use to build a new faction around. So the Nobles and Osborne decided to break them up and isolate each of them to different locations and disperse the influence. It worked that the kids also realized that they couldn't stay together due to what happened but I think them giving up the academy they fought hard to reclaim wasn't what they wanted.

Rean is basically chained to Valimar now who is public knowledge and has to defend the Empire, and Jusis was led partially by his brother into destabilizing his own home region and forced to take control of Bareahard. These two are the main figures who you could use as leaders and they've been completely tied down by obligations and their own actions. Alisa isn't directly but the Noble Alliance targeted her mother and she's just had a first-hand experience of a hostile takeover so she's kind of in a similar situation regarding Reinford Company.

The others need those three to fall behind, and they're the three most powerful so Class VII is sunk for now. And I think it was an intentional part of the plan, because the kids would naturally be curious and suspicious of Osborne's revival and how the Ironbloods played them and all the un-answered questions. So it's better to weigh them down and split them up so they can't start meddling where they aren't needed.

No idea how CS3 will go but it'd be funny if the separated kids ended up fighting each other before realizing how they were played.

There are very few recycled chest lines now, too. I remember being mildly disappointed on release that most of the game's chests used the same stock line, but I guess they just hadn't quite finished those by the release date and added them in later instead.

So I'm planning to plat CS1 before CS2 releases next week. I already have most of the hard to get the trophies and most just need the dance one but I was wondering what the max level is? Is it 99 or 100? I know you only need level 80 for the trasnfer bonus but might as well get that extra step so I have the save ready for when CS3 drops in like 5 years and I want to replay the series from start to finish.

As far as I know it's 99, but past 65 or so it starts to get hard to level up because even final dungeon enemies start giving less XP, and past 80 is really hard without Shining Pom bait because XP gain just drops off a cliff. 80 is more than enough to beat everything with ease anyway.

Claire with her leadership that allows other characters to act their turn. Partnering her with Machias' Burst Drive and you can theoretically get infinite turns.

Then there's the Sharon-Alisa loop where you can have infinite amounts of CP.

Of course once you got Chrono Burst, then you're done.
