Just to note that there are no story recreation missions so if you want to replay missions based on the shows you're better off with the PSP games, Macross 30 focuses on it's own story but out side of that you're free to play with a ton of different Valkyries and a few Zentradi mechs.

I liked it, even with only a rudimentary understanding of Japanese I could follow the story and enjoy myself. It looks amazing and plays well for an open RPG format. The only downside was some performance issues from time to time.

It includes all the eras up until the end of Macross F films, so lots of content too.
