I do not hate the character, it's just that the character was so fucking badass in dealing with death, but then it turns out that everything was already planned. This, to me, has ruined a bit the intensity of the battle.

Asami in S2 is because she already had a sort of egotistical personality from the start of S1 and she picked up Kuroki's lax play-by-ear destructive habits and Sena's control freak mentality while being given a leadership position despite having no experience doing anything of the sort.

I only watched the first four episodes, but I got bored because the humor and story didn't really strike a chord, the villain was boring and never really did anything besides act smug and it seemed like everyone in section whatever had a will wear they'd bust out eventually.

Oh, and the poker episode annoyed me because it seemed fairly cliché, though I can't recall exactly why. It wasn't the frequency of goof hands though before that's suggested, since I recall complaints about that at the time it aired. That's just how media does poker. I do recall finding it tiring enough that it was what made me drop it, but that I hadn't been in love with the show by any stretch before that. The show didn't do anything really wrong that I recall and any faults are more like nitpicks, but it didn't do anything really right either. It wasjust kind of ordinary in my opinion.

Actually I found the poker scene to be legit, if just really over the top.

People apparently don't know about Stud poker. One card down, rest face up, best bluffer wins. The stupid hands make sense as a way to enhance the value of bluffing because now you have to account for stupid good hands legitimately being possible and not just asspull levels of good luck.

I mean, they had a robodealer if I remember the episode right. They could easily rig it to deal out hands that are difficult to evaluate with a single blind card.

Let me draw your attention to two phrases you might have missed in my post:

Both the things you picked out are really more personal preference on my part, but I would have thought I'd made it clear the show just wasn't meeting personal preferences and that was my only real problem with it.

And no, I don't expect a mastermind type villain to do more than act smug as such - I just don't like those types of villains in general, partially because I don't like that a lot of them don't do more than that for large stretches.

As to the whole section possibly having Will Wears? Again, personal preference. I'd prefer that like Patlabor it's kept to a small number of the cast using them and the rest of the cast having other roles and showing how cool they are by being good in them. I wouldn't want Goto or Hiromi using Labors, and by the same extension I don't want all of the section in Will Wears. If you do, more power to you. I don't knock you at all for doing so, it's just a preference of mine - not something I expect you to share.

No, I'm blaming it on not enjoying the show. Though blame is not the word I'd chose to use frankly. It's just a simple scientific fact that people remember things they have an emotional attachment to better than stuff they don't. I didn't enjoy Active Raid. I didn't find it infuriating or anything either, just not my bag. So I don't recall it all that well. Generally speaking, people won't remember such things well. If you do, good for you. I don't. If you want to call that bad long term memory, then I guess I have that. It's not really, though - it's just normal memory.
