I just popped into the thread to reply to that. I haven't watched regalia but I plan on it very soon. I watch anime primarily, that is almost 90%, for animation related things. Meaning character design, the animation itself, visual cues and references, physical comedy, color palate, and voice acting. Story, characterization, and other elements aren't nearly as important to me in anime because I don't see those things as the 'why' of anime. Anime is for spectacle, for awe, for raw interpretation of what is presented. It's far, far more 'base'. I don't like complex themes, motivations, writing or plots getting in the way of that because I can just go read Rainbow Six again for that in a far better suited medium.

Hey now, I went into the show expecting some weird stuff and nicely animated robots and at the start it was just that.

Now it has less weird shit, more robots and some fancy mythology to boot.
Being the only airing show besides Gundam IBO (really?) and Bubuki Buranki, I think its a pretty clear winner for now.

Count yourself lucky you can generate mental images at all. If I close my eyes I can barely generate a blob of color, and mostly make do with description instead. The only time I've ever been able to generate a decent mental image was when I was on shrooms once. A good few years back I was talking to one of the guys I was living with at the time (can't recall the topic of conversation or why it went in this direction), but he said one thing he'd never not be able to summon mental image of if he wanted was his mother's face. Which worried the fuck out of me for a good few years after wards, because I'd struggle to say what color hair my mother has and definitely couldn't summon a mental image of her.
