I can't speak about the story as I haven't read it yet beyond the first volume. I imagine it's more of the same from Hasegawa, who is responsible for all of Crossbone's incarnations and sequels. If his earlier weird/stupid stuff (newtype monkeys chasing inflatable yellow balloons, newtype cybernetic brains, etc) didn't put you off, you probably won't really mind all that much.
