The original Roadbuster and Whirl toys were originally licensed versions of the Mugen Calibur and Oberron Gazzette toys from the Dorvack toyline. Many of the 1985 higher end second wave Transformer toys were licensed by Hasbro from other Japanese toylines.

Ah I knew that whirl and roadbuster were based off of old Bandai toys but I didn't know they had they're own cartoons. That's pretty neat.
