My problem at the MOMENT with the first episode, with the advertisements in mind, is that it may be the opposite of Ghost's start in terms of threat.

For Ghost, all we knew was ""There's Ganma" and this dude Saionji. We knew fucking nothing else and for a while it felt like there was no genuine threat. At the end there wasn't much of one but at least they presented some options for final boss.

in Ex-Aid, we dunno if it'll be Pallad and Graphite or GENM or any of that because of all they threw at us. And then there's also the fact the Bugster seem to be going through the gashats and that'll be at least 10 episodes total of plot if they don't stretch it out further.

HOWEVER, all the characters immediately presented have more obvious personalities without feeling immediately one-off.

While I'm of the belief that you can't judge a toku show on the first episode alone, my biggest issue with the first episode of Ex-Aid was that there was far too much slapstick and closeups of exaggerated reactions while a goofy sound plays. Gemn is just a living Debug mode.
The reason he's likely stronger than the other Gamer Riders is because he has access to information and skills that the others have no clue about. Allowing Genm to literally "Break the Game" in order to gain advantage over the others.

If he does lose his Gamer Driver, it will be because his became corrupted due to the use of Proto Might No.X, and will be forced to use the Bug Visor as a back up, along with a possible Zombie game from to play off the idea that Genm is dark, corrupted, dead, glitched.

Plus we also have to factor in the new version of the Gamer Driver that's coming out in Jan, so who knows what that will bring.
