The first episodes were really hard for me to watch, because it was a lot of people with heads far up their own asses, and the main character was kind of a shithead.

It turned out a lot of things were significant to the plot, or heavily hinted at, which became increasingly obvious as the show progressed. So it wasn't a waste.

Also, the other characters pointed out to the MC, "Hey, maybe you shouldn't so much of a shithead." And he realizes he's a shithead, and works at being not so much of a shithead. That's pretty cool.

Super Robot Red Baron is a pretty fun show, so seeing it not brought up here much is odd.

One thing I loved about Red Baron is how much 70's toku villains don't fuck around. They'll shoot you dead with a regular gun, and the show makes sure you know it right off the bat by setting up a cliffhanger at the end of episode one and then not having the expected deus ez rescue at the beginning of episode 2. I lost my shit when Ken's brother actually exploded.

Yeah, for a bunch of villains from a simpler time, the Iron Alliance were fairly proactive at times, to say nothing of the midway point climax. Their upper branch even managed to hijack Red Baron once.

I watched it. The only really memorable thing about it is that almost every episode they send one of the mooks to Earth and they come up with all sorts of disguises and infiltration plans, instead of just being cannon fodder for the good guys.
