I'm curious, why do you rate Musashibou so low? Personally he is in contention for my favorite.

And no love for Armageddon Musashi? He's only in the first three episodes but he made one hell of an impact

Well you are honest at least, personally I loved his integration into the team and really felt for the first time the pilots were viewed as equals outside the fact that Ryoma has always been the perfect Getter pilot.

Honestly I can see why some might dislike New Getter, despite certain things being very similar I think New is a black sheep. Every other series has a similar air and atmosphere just to varying degrees. But there really is something different about New. I love New personally, though.

Also I liked that New broke the chain and for once the Getter 3 pilot didn't die, was a nice surprise.

Also everyone forgets that Benkei Musashibou isn't just Benkei + Musashi, he also has traits of Baku.

Armageddon Musashi is boss.

I fucking love Z 2.1 because of the fact you get to use him the whole game. He fits in better with batshit Ryouma than Armageddon Benkei does.

That's why I said aside from that. When the three are shown together they actually respect each other and interact, I'm particularly referring to Benkei and Ryomas fist fight or how Benkei is the level-headed one of the three.

He also has traits of Gai mixed in since he was able to repair the Getter and acts like a peace keeper. Musashibou is every Getter 3 pilot blended together.

Also I personally think this is the absolute best Getter 3 design.

That's something Musashi did first time he met Ryouma in the manga.
However, Musashibou does get a few scenes that were originally from Getter Robo Go's Gai.

Didn't he have a second scene where he helps with tech or am I mistaken? I know the first time it's entirely a reference to the manga with the whole "I used to fix bikes all the time" line but I could have sworn he does some tech stuff later.

He was a baseball catcher in highschool for Toei as his proof that he's got enough endurance for Getter. I think the manga made him a pro baseball player instead since everyone had gotten a bit older, but they only slightly mention it.
