I need help with Alpha Gaiden.

My problem is this:

It crashes ePSXe the moment I try to launch iso.

I downloaded a pre-patched iso, the instructions were simple enough, extract the rar, open psx, select run iso and run the file.

The problem is that in the extracted folder there is a bin file which is about 701mb, and a cue file which is only 1kb.

No matter which one I select the emulator just instantly crashes.

Okay, I am at a complete loss here.

Supposedly ePSXe should be capable of launching the game from the bin file, but it just gives me a black screen and crashes when I try that.

I also tried what someone else on another forum suggested, to convert the bin/cue file into an iso, but it just crashed when i launch that too.

At this point I might as well just wait until I can afford a PS4 and play Moon Dwellers.

For issues like that, it's best to google it.

If it's a 360/X1/PC Compatible controller, then you may want to update drivers.

If you're using PS3/PS4, however, you'll want to make sure you're using proper software that's updated to the latest version.

I use a PS4 controller with DS4 Windows. If it's not updated to the latest version it tends to bug out with emulators.

Also make sure you're using the latest version of PCSXR with the latest plugins.

Anything else is beyond me and you'll want to rely on google and seeing if anyone else encountered similar issues.

I personally like the aesthetic the most because the games look like they just took the GBA aesthetics and ran with it, and I fucking loved Judgement.

I thought Z3's aesthetic was kinda horrible.
Z1 has a thing going on with more grounded and muted colors along with the use of background animation that really makes things seem more "real," Z2 has more vibrant and colorful sprites and goes a bit more over-the-top with its animations, probably because it's a handheld title, but Z3 just has this weird glossy and stiff feel to everything that I just can't stand.

OG2nd has a similar sort of glossy style that I don't really like, but it gets bonus points because of how crazy amazing the animations are.

Sorry for the super late reply, I've been busy today with various things of varying levels of quality one of which was my copy of Gundam Breaker 3 coming in right before we went on vacation. Fun times were had.

Just from the base settings alone you have a very jumbled combined setting here. You have magic being a thing with Demonbane, Reploids being commonplace and technology being highly advanced because of X, people who use said magic and teach it to the younger generation from Shirogane and ColdSteel, and also the crisis of everything that was running on Shizuma Drives suddenly not working. I guess you could say that most Reploids not named X or Zero were running on older tech or magic, which would be interesting. I haven't touched Read or Die, Shirogane or Powerpuff Girls Z as an fyi so I'm working off of what I know.

From my experience with these I can say that the setting itself is interesting but it's certainly out of my area. I think Shirogane had some sort of Dragon War thousands of years ago so maybe you could link that to Demonbane as like the source of all magic, or at least make the Dragons something Lovecraftian in nature to tie it together. Either way I'm still looking forward to it. Might require a lot of plot melding and rewriting to make it all work but that's the kind of thing I live for.
