That felt like it had all the elements to be something good but it was such a mistake failure.
Favorite for me is Rockman.exe

Battle Network and Legends. Battle Network has some of my favorite gameplay in any video game ever, and I love the "ruins explorer" post-apocalyptic theme of Legends, as well as the characters and enemies.
I wish Starforce had a proper boss battle against Megaman.exe though.
This will never be a thing

Those educational OVAs from the 90s are way better than they are supposed to be.
Battle Network and X
I acknowledge all the X series flaws but still I enjoyed the gameplay better than I did on Zero or ZX, too much focus on the Z-Saber and not much weapon variety.
Also, for all the shit that gets thrown on X5, it gave me the hypest shit of my childhood.

BN is great, 2 and 3 are usually the fan favorites but BN6 had the perfect folder building and battle balance overall, too bad they nailed it just the final game, kinda the same that happened with Starforce 3.
>>14784003
>Rockman
It's Mega Man you Goddamn weeb
My favorite adaptation is probably the Shooting Star anime. It wasn't great, but I loved the visual style with the subdued colors and I like the general set up of Star Force in the first place.
As for games, ZX or Battle Network overall, though Star Force 3 is my single favorite Mega Man game.
>>14784003
I actually like starforce gameplaywise, can't really commentate on the anime but I didn't find the shift in perspective between be and starforce to be terrible
Oh wait you meant anime adaptations. I guess EXE then. Is not a faithful adaptation from the games but it's ok, I also didn't mind the cross fusion stuff at all.
Another good point, all the girls were 10/10

Opinion discrarded

Anyone knows what happened to the guy that made the Zero and ZX designs? I haven't seen any new picture from him in years, he also stopped to make doujins for his circle in the comikets too.

Why so much hate? The only problem of that series is the 10 minute format, aside of that is pretty nice.
>>14784323
>shit story, characters, gameplay
Gee I wonder why everyone hates it?
>>14784323
They probably are talking about the games, which is true at least for SF1 and 2No, good story alone doesn't make SF1 better than mediocre
the battle network series is my favorite
>>14784323
Because all three games are terrible.
Hitoshi Ariga's Megamix and Gigamix are cool. Second place goes to Koji Izuki's take on Mega Man & Bass (shame that the rest of that manga's chapters will never get scanlated though).
>>14784063
Especially given that they were meant to be spin-offs to what the Ruby-Spears show would have been.

>They never played Star Force 3
>>14784395
It was always a thing in the 90's, take a look at those power rangers toys for example.
Anyway, the tv show was goofy as fuck but it's kinda enjoyable. I liked that episode where X appears and he's a shit wrecker powerhouse
Speaking about it, I haven't hear more news about that new MegaMan show but probably will be just meme humor and won't have good action at all.
>>14784484
Yeah, the show had an odd kind of charm to it (depending on the episode), that I'll agree with. Plus they sneaked in little nods to the games whenever they could.
Sadly, the Man of Action one seems like it'll be the equivalent of someone adapting Mega Man after they just heard of the games yesterday (seriously, look at the interview in here: http://www.rockman-corner.com/2016/08/new-mega-man-cartoon-to-air-on-disney.html).
>>14784003
The one you posted is not even /m/ related. In fact, fuck the Battle Network universe in general, the whole setting is completely nonsensical, their whole concept of internet is stupid, and it's barely connected with Mega Man anyway so you can safely ignore it.
>What is your favorite Rockman adaptation?
I have only read a little bit of the Archie Comics Mega Man but it seemed to be good enough, better than the cartoon at least.

you guys got any actual reason for thinking its shit or are you just assmad because its "not muh megaman"? Starforce is just Battle Network with over the should perspective. Now the touchscreen minigame/puzzles were forced, but welcome to the DS
This
>>14784818
With worse controls, less customization, limited movement, less creative, and has worse characters and writing than any other megaman game.

>waaaaah Im a social recluse who can only make friends because of social media
doesn't really make for an endearing character trait
>>14784415
Let's pretend 3 is somehow GOOD. If the first 2 sucked why would I ever give 3 a look?
>>14784869
Sure, Starforce 1 and 2 are bad, nobody deny that but Starforce 3 really stepped up the game also:
The protagonist man up in the end of Starforce 1 and in Starforce 3 he's a brave space cop, he doesn't even need to hide his identity anymore.
The battle system in 3 is way better than SF1 and 2, a lot of different transformations that can be combined to get more abilities from both and a lot more cards making up a good variety of folders (you also get to pick the cards from the first 2 starforce games).
Starforce 3 is pretty much like Battle Network 6 with 3 times more content.

Can you just jump into the third game without being lost? Also Black or Red?
>>14785255
Just read some guide or something about the first two games and skip them, 3 is the best. Also it's up to you, both versions are good.Get Black Ace
Legends, for sure.
Mostly for the Reaver Bots.
the brazilian comic with X and Mega.

Only hues will know how CRAZY the author was, he was the ABSOLUTE MADMAN, SO MAD that he died bitter, with rage and alone.
He is an example of HOW NOT BE.
>>14785475
Fuck you, JRP was awesome.
Probably Ariga's Megamix and Gigamix books. They were cool interpretations of events and I can't get enough of his art style and designs.
As far as shows go I loved the .EXE anime as a kid (Dubbed NT Warrior down here). Battle Network was how I was first introduced to the Mega Man series so I'm always a little biased when it comes to it. Plus cyber/digital space themed things are rad.
>>14784026
Starforce 1 was a decent intro and could have been improved, but they figured they'd hook the BN crowd and therefore didn't even try with 2, then they actually did try with 3 but it was too late, the damage was done.
The anime though, never had a prayer because thanks to .exe losing half its timeslot, they never had enough time to do anything. It didn't help that the entire second half was basically just killing time until SF2 was about to come out so they could do the finale.
It was just a mess. It could have been great but poor decisions and deperation to reverse the decline since BN4 ended up killing Starforce, and Megaman in general.
>>14784970
The first two are still decent I think, but SF3 blows both way out of the water.
I read onTVTropesthat Geo's mom is quite fanservicey in the anime?
>>14785969
Nah
>>14784970
>no Harp
Why must best girl suffer
>>14786009
The funny thing is, even Starforce 3 has no Harp Noise or even Harp Note as a battlecard this time, it actually has the most actual screentime she gets.
Zero is my absolute favorite, the designs, the setting, the bad guys, the allies, absolutely everything is gold.
Dash its my second one.
Although I also enjoyed quite a bit the X series, specially X5, I loved the bosses of that one together with X3 bosses are still my favorite batch of bosses ever.
Probably the X series when it comes to adaptations, I'm also a diehard fan of the Classic series. It's been a long while since touched BN but I remember liking it and the ZX series looks fun. How's the ZX series?And technically not MM but because it's gonna get brought up eventually, I liked MN9 fuck you ;_;
>>14784063
>Those educational OVAs from the 90s are way better than they are supposed to be.
This. While I do have a bit of a soft spot for the Ruby-Spears series, i'm still kinda butthurt we never got a cartoon based on that pitch trailer.
>>14784970
Ah Rogue form was the best all sword chips do double damage
>>14785475
>mary sue character was so overwhelming that she had to be killed off for the story to remain on its course
Letting randomly-picked fans continue the comic, not even once.
Im a 90s kid so it's Rockman X. I also followed the chinese translations of iwamoto's manga adaptation closely back then. Was extremely pissed when Rockman X4's run was discontinued. I dunno when you guys went "fuck Capcom" but for me, that was it.
>>14784003
I like those ancient Comic Bon Bon comics of the original series of games.
I got a bunch of tanks of them cheap off ebay. They're fun little reads. Nothing amazing storywise, nice friendly art, really simple moonrunes.
>>14784036
I just wish they did more with ZX before they kicked the bucket after Advent
>>14786187
The Shigeto Ikehara ones, huh? It's interesting how this version is among the most similar to Astro Boy.
>>14786197
I think it's the eyelashes. They push him beyond just any random robot boy in panties firmly into Astro territory.
>>14786187

This is some of the most charming art I've ever seen in a manga. Its like Tezuka but the line work and anatomy is a bit different which IMO gives it more charm.

>>14786139
ZX is a really good series in my opinion, solid gameplay in both of them, but it is a direct sequel of the Zero series so if you didn't like the story or it's gameplay you won't enjoy it.The straight up animated cutscenes were a treat.

So...if the megaman series where picked again and only one game could be done in which form would you like to see it resurrected?
[ ] Classic
[ ] X
[ ] Network
[ ] Star force
[ ] Zero
[ ] ZX
[ ] Dash
[ ] Other Sequel to some of the obscure titles (like the RPG for example)
[ ] New original series
What a sad era we live in.
At least we still have precious memories about the games.
>>14787126
Battle Network. at least there are clones of Classic/X/Zero/ZX gameplay around. BN was good yet nobody tries to create a game with a similar style.
>>14787126
Only one game? Give me Legends 3 then, as it has been waiting for a resolution to it's cliffhanger the longest. More than one game? Give me annual classic Mega Man games in the style of 9 and 10, as those are my favorite games in the series, must not be that expensive to make, and I would love to have more of it. Alternatively, make a Classic game as a 3D platformer like Ratchet & Clank.
As a 90's kid who grew up playing arcade and Playstation, it was definitely Rockman X.
>>14787140
Appmon looks like it's going to

Not to mention the fan games (which are steadily getting better, hopefully).
>that moment when you get that armor/weapon/chip/part that carried you for the whole game

>>14785998
Apparently in the second anime she's much more fanservicey.
>>14787630
I'm solarfucked up
>>14785255
Definitely skip 2, but I'm not sure why that anon recommends skipping the first game. It's surprisingly well-written and the gameplay isn't bad enough to warrant a skip.
If you really want to know what happens in the second game, check this LP: http://lparchive.org/Mega-Man-Star-Force-2-Zerker-x-Saurian/
The LPer completely snaps the game's difficulty in half and shittalks the awful writing nonstop. That is the only proper mindset to that garbage.
>>14784003 (OP)
I'm currently watching the show, the short haired idol girl gets entire service episodes. Her scenes playing/lazing on the beach have more animation that the rest of the series alltogether
