You're probably right. In AC3 you had three 10 second bursts of practical invincibility for the low low cost of the normally slightly useful shoulder slot. It made the arena super easy and your friends super mad.

I liked it too, but the RPS damage system completely sucks the fun out of AC fights. You can just scan their AC, retry mission with counter weapons and defenses, and completely trivialize around 90% of the fights with S ranks. I can only think of 4 or 5 AC fights that were even a bit challenging, and they were mostly 2 on 1s.

This has always been true for AC games though. I always try and do my whole first playthrough with a single design and work with its defects because it's more fun for me to stick with my own machine that I've carefully assembled over many missions.

Eh, it had an irritating lockbox and a slow rate of fire. It was good for some quick S ranks because it was an energy weapon, but I prefer other back cannons.
