For the most part it's an EVA clone. It's not terrible but SRW improved it, especially since the special robot only in J doesn't appear in there.

The manga was published in a hentai magazine. The OVAs share mostly the same premise, but with totally different characters. The manga originally ended in a cliffhanger, while the OVA had a rushed ending.
Because of its newfound popularity (maybe because of SRW), they made a final chapter of the manga (Zeorymer Omega), that finally tells the ending.

About the OVAs, they're not stellar. Good visuals and charismatic characters, but fights are a bit one-sided, and the plot is a wreck.

Zeorymer Omega is a different manga. The one that tells the ending is Zeorymer The Final Chapter (Zeorymer Saishusho). The original manga was published in Lemon People (a very famous hentai magazine).

The manga and the OVA are both just kind of ok. Both of them, but especially the OVA suffer from extremely boring fight scenes. Zeorymer has ONE attack that consists of it barely moving an inch while everything around it dies. There are no punches or kicks, no swords, no lasers or guns, nothing.

And I wouldn't call Zeorymer's fights boring. The sense of scale alone i amazing.
