Ghost's problem was that it was too flip-floppy. Many times, one episode would be comedic then another tried to be serious. This also happened in the same episode too.

Her science allowed other characters to see and fight ghost and helped open the portals a bunch of times. She was actually one of the most useful main heroines in a while. Her slap gag was her connection with Igor which did get a resolution. An awfully executed one, but it was there.
Not saying she's a great character(she isnt), but for a main heroine she's pretty good. Kiriko was mostly a pantyhose pair which had a passive role to Chase and maybe Gou, Mai was mostly a plot device, Koyomi was barely even there.

My girlfriend and I watched W, OOO, and Fourze, and all the accompanying movies and we loved them. Fast forward to us watching Ghost. It's our first show we've watched while it's airing. We'd stop watching for months at a time because we just didn't care to keep up.

That shit was kinda spooky, and I was expecting the entire series to be Takeru investigating scary paranormal stuff and using exorcism to get rid of spooky specters.
